unlocked iphone 4s from canada work in india

i live in india and thinking to buy an unlocked iphone 4s from canada (sealed box), will it work in india (airtel,vodafone,bsnl etc),and unbox it in india only ? please help 🙂

If you buy an unlocked phone directly from the Apple Store (not without contract only but also unlocked) it will work with compatible carriers in India. If you need warranty service you will have to return to Canada.

ihv come to knw that there are 2 types of unlocked iphones 1 ) which is just factory unlocked and can be used only in canada(not abroad ) with all the connections and other is 2) country unlocked which can be used world wide with ol connections(even abroad)...so the iphone 4s which will be in store on 14th ( which canadian site of apple is showing) will it be country unlocked? and if not

can you teme which countries will be selling country unlocked iphone 4s 🙂

There is no "factory unlocked and can only be used in Canada" that I am aware of. I don't believe any factory unlocked iPhone 4s models will be available until November.

Plz Don't Buy It. At least not right now. We're having problems with the unlocked iPhone in India. Even with the so called compatible networks like Airtel. Check this thread link then you'll know what I'm talking about !

Yes, we are having issues with unlocked IPhone 4s phones in India. Am also one on the same boat.

For me, my India Sim worked in Canada, but not working in India, weird but true. So, wait till this thread updates that it's working fine for networks in India.
