Name is used by another user

Got this morning my MBA. First time I have a MAC, sorry for stupid questions.

When I started the MBA I used my name "Frank". Later I saw in Users&Groups that this is the Admin account. So I renamed this account to Administrator.

Now I want to create a Standard user called "Frank" and the system says "Name is used by another user".

When I start

dscl . list /Users

it shows the list which includes Frank instead of Administrator

regards

Yes, Frank is still an account you change the full name but the account name stays as Frank. Also you shouldn't name any accounts on your system as "Administrator" if you are the main user on your system then you need to be setup as a administrator. Change the name back to Frank. If you don't want to have administrator rights then you will need to make a new user as a administrator then go into your account and change it to a standard user.

There's a good deal of debate among a part of the Apple community as to whether it is safe (or at least good practice) to use an admin account for daily work. At home I use an admin account - I'm the only person who touches my computer. For my notebook and work computers I use a standard account and use fast user switching to log into the admin account when I need admin access. Since there are many potential users and/or the environment isn't locked down (as my home is) I figure it is prudent to operate out of a standard account there.
