image capture snow leopard

I have an intel imac with snow leopard.

Ever since the upgrade from leopard to SL I cannnot get image capture to save the settings for my various cameras.

The problem seems to be with the import to: function. No matter where I set the setting on import to on various cameras it defaults back to import to: pictures. I import to my external, not to the pictures folders on the imac HD. For me it is no big deal, but my wife can never figure out where to unload the pics.

It was great in Leopard. It remembered the camera and the settings so all my wife had to do was click and that was it. Since SL, I have to change the import to: every time and the family has problems figuring it out. Any suggestions?

Thanks

It maybe confusing for them if you have there camera(s) set to open Image Capture? Perhaps you should direct those cameras to open iPhoto or whatever software they use instead of Image Capture.

Also note that Image Capture has changed, but only slightly in 10.6.
