Default Apps on iPad 2

Default Apps on iPad 2

I have an iPad 2 and noticed some default apps I think are missing. My problem is I'm not sure what the default apps are supposed to be. In the iPad 2 user guide (pages 14-16), the user guide reflects different default apps than what is on the web site.

The ones noted on the website http://www.apple.com/ipad/built-in-apps/ are the ones I do not have. They are:

find my ipad

music

reminders

ibooks

messages

newstand

ibooks

I did a "Reset All Settings"

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated on what should be the default apps.

Reminders, Messages, and Newstand are all part of iOS 5 which hasn't been released yet, so it's not surprising that you don't have them. iOS 5 will be released on October 12. iBooks and Find My iPad can be downloaded from the App Store for your current iPad. I'm guessing that they renamed the iPod app to "Music".

Ahhhhh. Thank you. I must of missed that Reminders, Messages, and Newstand are all part of iOS 5. I didn't realize that the website was updated before iOS 5 came out.

For ibooks and Find my ipad, I didn't realize I had to download them.

iPod to Music - I'm assuming an IOS 5 thing too. Correct?
