Iphone 4 says charging with this accessory is unsupported while plug into wall with official charger?

I'm using an otterbox defender phone case so you would think it would be protecting the inside of the charger port...

Any one know why this is happening and how to fix it? Sometimes i can get it to charge if im lucky, but normally it will say charging is not supported with this accessory, while it's plugged into the normal wall charger.

Most likely the iphone is noticing that the amps or voltage are lower than normal. Two possibilities are that the plug or cord to your iphone charger are damaged or that your wall is not delivering enough power to the charger. Bring the charger to another location (either different plug or maybe different house like @work) and see if it also gives the same error at different locations. If so, then it's likely the charger/usb cord, if not, then that means your wall plug or house power needs to be looked at.
