According to some of my friends, they say cannot! But i never believe them 100%.

If you have not jailbroken it, then it is extrmemly unlikely. It hasn't happened yet.
There is an antivirus software from norton for tablets... Nothing is 100% safe from attacks. If the FBI and CIA can be invaded.. Your iPad is not safe.. Odds of it happening..... Almost 0 but I wouldn't go buy the software either.

As long as the iPad is not jailbroken, it is not likely for the virus to sneek in. It more like a 'one way street'. OS device strictly allowed data which its required. Futhermore, apple will only downloads data from a recoqnized IP Address. Well, your friends are right!!
Yes, there are an anti virus for a tablets, but most of it is for tablets with Windows Tablet OS, Androids OS and JAVA based Programming Language...
