Try here > iPhone, iPad, iPod touch: Device not recognized in iTunes for Mac OS X

And try reinstalling the AMDS for Mac > iTunes: How to remove and reinstall the Apple Mobile Device Service on Mac OS X

I could download photos taken with the ipad from the ipad to Iphoto. But this is not possible with Itunes (10.4.1).

Try deleting the photo cache > iTunes: Understanding the iPod Photo Cache folder

i would love your help !!

Thanks,

of course, before coming here i already tried the full support propositions as well as ideas from several discussions, reinstalled itunes, shut down several times MacBook and IPad... but nothing helped. I spent more than 3 hours searching and trying.. but success = 0

I will try to have a look at reinstalling the AMDS... this sounds like a new idea and i hope it will be the right one.

Hi, I'm looking for help on a similar problem. I have an iPad 1 which once synced effortlessly to the iMac running Snow Leopard, but now it will only sync if I have a new install of iTunes, i.e. if I shut down and/or restart the iMac iTunes will not see the iPad. I must re-install iTunes every time I want to sync. Not a real problem, but annoying and puzzling. Any suggestions?

Not that I have noticed.

Well, I have lost data on the iPad on occasion - like all the songs, but I have done this lots of times now and generally the answer is I don't see any obvious loss of data. It is as if a restart re initialises the iTunes and it has no "memory" of the iPad having been synced. If I avoid a restart iTunes seems to behave and always sees the iPad.

Hey,

This worked.

I proceeded to "reinstall the Apple Mobile Device Service" before reinstalling Itunes.

The additional procedure is very quick and it's worth it.

My iPad now sync again perfectly at several attempts.

And no data loss... i guess it is no surprise but i was still a bit anxious.

Thank you, i hope this will held now.
