iPod touch 4 with black screen

I have a iPod touch 4th generation and I have had it for at leaste 7 months, today I turned off my iPod to fix the photo app, I pressed down the sleep button and slid my fingure across the turn off part, then it went to the black screen with the loading symbol and it's stayed like that. Now the loading wheel is still turning but it's been turning for 4 hours and I'm not sure what to do. The iPod will not respond to anything I do.

Try to press the power on/off button for 2 seconds and than the home button (keeping the two buttons pressed). Your screen will turn black and your iPod will "restart" automatically (it may last a bit more to restart). You will not lose any of your informations. This happened to me too and worked; but if starts to do that loads of time, you should contact Apple, they are the professionals 😉
