MacBook 7,1 RAM upgrade

I own a mid-2010 MacBook (version 7,1) that is just under a year old, and I would like to upgrade the RAM because it is lagging (quite severely for certain applications). Does anyone here know which brand of memory I should use and how much the package costs, and/or if Apple's official RAM packages are better than third-party packages? Any answers would be much appreciated.

MacBook, Mac OS X (10.6.8), MacBook White, Mid-2010 model

Apple brand RAM is no better than anyone elses since they buy it from outside manufacturers. It's just twice as expensive.
