My iphone 4 camera flash is too strong it turns all my night pictures into a white blank. How can i fix that?

You can only disable the flash by taping on the flash icon in the left corner and hitting "off" instead of "auto".

Maybe they have improved that in iOS5.

either the led is mounted wrong under the glas OR

you have a case on your iphone4 which is close to the led so the led bundle is lighting up the casing and the casing is lighting up the camera.

if you have a case, remove it and try again.

Did you have a plastic cover/film over the back of the phone? The flash might be reflecitng off that.

i had the same problem with my iphone 4s. it seemed to resolve itself after about 10 photos. i was really worried the first few minutes

Thanks GravityZ, I have my iPhone 4s in a leather flip case and was also wonderin about the over-bright flash, but when I took the phone out of the case the flash worked just great

I'm having the same problem with my camera. Its like the flash is going off to late sometimes or to early. So pictures come out dark and others will show up but will be all hazy looking. I have an appointment at the genius bar. But as this is my second phone already any help so I don't have to make another trip would be much appreciated. Here are some examples. The flash went off in this picture and the natural light is a lot brighter than it looks like here in this pic

Hi. I had the same problem. There is a thin plastic cover on the back of IPhone. Remove it and it should be fine. Also try not to get too close to object when taking flash photography.
