My wife has a 2007 mac book and i beleive it's running either leopard or snow leopard and wanted to know how, or if, she would be able to upgrade to an iphone 5? She has the 3GS right now, but can't upgrade to the next version of itunes due to her computer being so old.
anyone have a work around for this, or advice? would she be able to use my computer to back up her phone and then restore the iphone 5 after we get it?

soooo, i can or can't upgrade my wife's phone using her computer? i don't have her specs in front me and i'm not sure what OS she'll be able to run.

If she has Leopard (10.5.8) or Snow Leopard (10.6.8) on it then she will be able to download iTunes 10.5 and she can activate the iPhone 4S.

If you don't have the specs for her computer in front of you, I certainly don't, and a MacBook 2007 alone isn't enough to answer the question. The minimum specs for the 4S were provided, so get her computer in front of you to check.

Check your wife's computer tonight and see which version of the OS she is on and we'll all go on from there.
and a 2007 MB can be upgraded to 10.6.8 if not even to Lion , so it should be not hopeless if it still runs 10.4.x 😉
