Will the ipad's price drop around Christmas?
I really don't want to drop $500 dollars on one, but if they were droped to $399 I would consider it. Is this a possibility this Christmas?

Steven Tyler of the band Aerosmith once wrote lyrics to a song that went something like this ...
Dream on, dream on .....
The only time I have ever seen a price drop from Apple on any device is when the next generation of that device debuts and they want to unload the old stock. I personally don't see an updated iPad by Christmas time so IMO - you will not see a price drop - at least from Apple.
😁
Apple has some refurbished iPad 1s available for $399. $449 for the least expensive iPad 2.
Beyond that, you'll just have to wait and see. A discount or price drop even approaching that much on a new iPad 2, though, is extremely unlikely.
Regards.

Why would they drop the price at Christmas? If anything, the demand for iPads goes up at Christmas since many people would buy them for gifts. In such a case, the prices should go up.
Apple has no reason to sell anything, much less the iPad, at a discount. Currently, there is a buyer willing to pay full price for every unit they produce.
AT&T has a 1st gen iPad 64GB/3G for $479.

How would we know? We don't work for Apple.
Best bet for a cheaper iPad 2 is look at the Apple refurb page.

The only other time you will see any price drops are at the Apple Store on Black Friday. Probably won't be $100 dollars though and may not be on the iPad.
