Q: Auto hide taskbar not working with iTunes 10.5 & Windows 7

Anyone else having problems with Auto-hide Taskbar not working when iTunes is open and the active window? Was working fine with previous versions including the beta of 10.5 I had. Is this a general problem or just me? Im using Windows 7 64bit for what its worth.

iTunes, Windows 7

I haven't gotten any response at all from Apple, aside from emails alerting me when new people add to this post. Maybe the original creator of the thread has received a response from them? I guess all that we can do is hope that they realize this problem exists and are going to fix it in the next iTunes version. It *would* be nice to get a response from someone who can actually assure us that that's happening, though. I mean, yeah, iTunes is free software, but they have a vested interest in making sure we use it to buy music from them, right? I've stopped using the iTunes store while this problem makes iTunes too much hassle. Amazon music is just as cheap.

same problem, so annoying.  I have itunes 10.5 open with Win7 64, and I want to see my taskbar and log onto internet, but I can't.  I have to minimize itunes to see my auto-hide taskbar.

    FIX THIS APPLE!!!!

I have this problem too! I posted a new thread about this before I saw this thread. Do you two also have problems with the bottom display glitching like so:

Now that you mention it I have noticed that a few times.  I can't remember if it was happening before the latest update or if it came along with the auto-hide trouble.

Problems with iTunes tend to get fixed in the next update, so I won't be too worried until we get another update and the problem is still there.  I figure someone reads these things, even if we never hear from them, if no one says anything we can't expect them to know anything is wrong, so a minute or two spent posting here can't hurt.

Likewise finding this glitch annoying.  Equally annoying that Apple doesn't appear interested in commenting on regarding a fix.  Rarely have I anxiously awaited an update (seemed like their was one every week for a while.)  Might they actually fix this - Please?

Same. I'm watching this thread thinking, "Someone from Apple has got to respond eventually." Do they really read these threads?

I think our best bet, until the next update (which we can keep hoping will have a fix), is to not let this thread become idle for too long, so that new people searching for the problem online will find it and post to it, and maybe the number of replies will get so high that Apple will realize it's a big problem for a lot of their users.

I was so excited when the new version came out, only to be so horribly dissappointed.

Add me to the list of concerned users -- I am responsible for a school installation of 300 computers (mostly WinXP), and find this little bug quite an irritant.  It contravenes my teaching to students about the wonders of Apple: I tell them that Apple's secret to success is attention to both overall usability and the detail of the user experience.

This apparent presumptuousness -- or, worse, mistaken coding -- in bypassing Windows' rules on screen maximizing behavior is worrisome.

Or maybe somebody will explain that Apple is actually following true standards, but Windows does not really follow its own standards for maximizing screen display?  Even so, iTunes needs to play well on Windows platforms.

    Fix it, please.

Just adding myself to the list.

Tried messing with the settings of both itunes and the taskbar. Can't seem to find a fix.

Slightly annoyed they'be not patched it in this latest update.

Add me to the list. Can't believe this wasn't fixed in the last update.
