Jan 3, 2012 12:01 PM in response to Thedoc247by TyanColte,New year, same problems. Add my name to the list, Win7 x64, latest iTunes. I do remember Google Chrome used to have this problem but they were pretty prompt in fixing it. I guess Google has better application support than Apple does. (Maybe that'll get them listening.)

Jan 21, 2012 8:18 AM in response to Thedoc247by kkay2009,and 10.5.3.3 (just downloaded today) didn't fix it either... they have to be ignoring us.

Jan 21, 2012 10:11 AM in response to kkay2009by garnsr,After this many updates with no change I'm guessing we're stuck with it this way.

Jan 21, 2012 2:19 PM in response to Thedoc247by mspowell,Seriously. Not. Cool.
I've taken to keeping my window unmaximized, since usually I'm only looking at it for the length of time it takes me to pick a new track to listen to, or update my iPod. So it's not that much of an inconvenience anymore (although I don't shop at the iTunes store anymore, either, because of this) but come on, Apple. It's the principle of the thing.

Jan 23, 2012 4:15 AM in response to JMC911by JMC911,Pretty cool. I just got an iTunes update from 10.5.2.11 to 10.5.3.3. I'm sure the maximize bug is fixed.....wait....oh, it's not.
Hmm. A bit of deja vu here? This is pretty pathetic.

Jan 23, 2012 8:13 AM in response to Thedoc247by mike a. h.,And the list with this same problem just keeps on growing. Please, Apple, correct this seemingly minor problem.

Jan 23, 2012 11:44 AM in response to Thedoc247by gordon_robinson,well, 10.5.3.3 has tried to fix it - but it now works fully sometimes, and at other times, is worse than before!
My workaround was to run Itunes in a slightly reduced window, this way I could get the task bar up.
Now, when Itunes has decided not to show the taskbar when maximized, it doesn't even show the task bar when reduced.
How long has this been going on for? Does no one test this software?

Jan 24, 2012 1:20 PM in response to Thedoc247by SamuelJamesMorgan,Also having this problem - despite there not being many posters here this is clearly a universal problem for Windows users and simply not many have the taskbar auto-hide enabled.
Is it possible to get some feedback on this from an Apple employee?
I presume it could be a Microsoft problem too, however it would be nice to get some clarification for which company we should complain to at least.
Thanks in advance,
Sam
P.S. It always worries me a little when cases of competition between your two companies is fought in incompatibility. Competition is good - that's Apples core message (pun intended) isn't it? It would be nice to see it fought out purely in the brilliance of the products you both offer us.

Jan 24, 2012 2:56 PM in response to SamuelJamesMorganby garnsr,It only started happening after an iTunes update (several updates ago,) so I can't see how it could be a Windows problem. It does work now and then for me, but minimizing iTunes then optimizing it goes back to not being able to get the task bar again. I've just left space at the bottom of the screen for the task bar like everyone else, but it's annoying.

Jan 27, 2012 5:35 AM in response to SamuelJamesMorganby Musikmann,The latest update downloaded today does not work any better. Same issue. Appreciate your insight into the competitive aspects of this issue. It would be nice to have Apple weigh in on this. At least point a finger somewhere!

Jan 29, 2012 4:51 PM in response to Thedoc247by miltonkb,Yeah, this is pretty sad they still haven't fixed it. I doubt it would be that hard of a fix, but it makes me hate using itunes. I know I can get it to pop up with the windows key but it is still really annoying.
