Feb 7, 2012 9:13 AM in response to Thedoc247by J Wiff,Add my name,
Been suffering with this issue for the last few months, pretty much ever since 10 was released, or mayeb just 10.5 I forget which.
Either way it's getting beyond a joke now, apple are just ignoring the bug completely!

Feb 10, 2012 4:40 PM in response to Thedoc247by Piggie,+1. Windows 7 64-bit. Has to be intentional, I don't think it's even possible to accidentaly do this.
My solution is to close iTunes when I'm done with it. So there, Apple.
Please report to http://www.apple.com/feedback/itunesapp.html
If you want to make it easy to stand out, here's what I reported:
Description: iTunes interferes with Windows task bar auto-hide function
Topic: Hardware and Software compatability
Comment: Please fix. More info available at https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3371255?start=0&tstart=0

Feb 11, 2012 3:29 PM in response to Thedoc247by singing4dlord11,Yes Me too I just recently noticed this. However, you don't have to minimize iTunes. A quick shortcut to switch between windows is ALT+Tab. Hold down the ALT key while tapping Tab until you get the window you want. Hope this helps everybody.

Mar 1, 2012 3:44 AM in response to SpectralLimeby HenrysHead,Same for me. Is there anywhere with a lift of bugs and which ones are being addressed? Wouldn't mind waiting so much if I knew they were on it.

Mar 1, 2012 4:14 PM in response to HenrysHeadby mspowell,No, there isn't, that I know. It specifically says in the new ToS agreement they just made me sign that Apple does not offer or promise any form of support for their products on this website. This is a discussion forum for us to help ourselves, basically. We're all just kind of banking on the assumption that someone employed by Apple does, in fact, keep an eye on these forums in case a lot of users have the same problem, and that eventually, someone will decide to fix the one we've been having. But it doesn't look like it's going to happen any time soon.
I just keep my iTunes unmaximized if I have to use it, because it's less annoying that way. You can also probably look into downloading another media player that can handle protected AAC files, if all your music was purchased through the iTunes store. (Amazon mp3s cost the same but aren't protected, so I've been buying those instead since all this started, since I can play them in VLC without having to open iTunes.)

Mar 8, 2012 11:54 AM in response to mspowellby gordon_robinson,so, just installed 10.6, absolutely no change.
I am frankly disgusted, Apple obviously have no intention of fixing this.

Mar 8, 2012 2:06 PM in response to gordon_robinsonby Musikmann,Yep! Darn irritating. Makes it hard to listen to tunes while doing other work. They did, however, fix the scroll button so you can go one line at a time for more than one line. Doesn't give you a lot of confidence in Apple when they publish software with such obvious problems.

Mar 17, 2012 11:02 PM in response to Thedoc247by danielthechskid,Guys/gals, WMP11 on XP has been this way for years now, possibly since its original release back at the end of 2006, when maximized the auto-hide taskbar quits showing, but if you press the windows key on the keyboard it pops up.
In other words if MS can't get it right with their own software on their own OS I wouldn't hold my breath about Apple fixing this either. If by some stroke of luck they do fix it, then kudos to them for 1 upping MS.

Apr 2, 2012 7:12 AM in response to Thedoc247by JMC911,Pretty cool. I just got an iTunes update to 10.6.1.7. I'm sure the maximize bug is fixed.....wait....oh, it's not.
Hmm. A bit of deja vu here? This is pretty pathetic.
(this is pretty handy. Everytime I update, I can come here, copy and paste my previous post, and just change the version number.)

Apr 6, 2012 11:02 AM in response to Thedoc247by maneff,Same problem. My work-around is to use ALT+TAB to get from maximized iTunes screen to desktop or another app.
