10.5 will not connect to iPod Touch - Spinning beachball
iTunes 10.5 will not connect to my iPod touch (I had no problems with the previous version).
Now all I get is a spinning beach ball and iTunes locks up.

No problems syncing with 10.5 on a PC using an iPhone, iPad and iPod. Maybe it's a Mac thing😉
Left it for about 10 mins and it synced. No probs syncing after that.
Sam problems here--Lion, iTunes 10.5. iPhone4 I'm trying to back up and have ready for iOS 5 won't connect at all, just spinning beachball (was up to date with latest iOS). iPad detected and starts to sync, although I left it running all night and it never fininshed step 1 of 6.
Going to make it hard to get iOS 5 if the iphone can't even be detected.
Tried hard reboots of computer and iPhone with no help.
Same for me my iPhone 4 won't connect to this new version I dowloaded this morning to my macbook pro. I get a spinning beachball. When I disconnect the iphone, itune switches screens for half a second and says "Updating My Iphone"
Just as an update, leaving my iPhone 4 plugged in for awhile got everything working just fine. I think I left it for about 10 minutes and everything works just fine now.
I am running Lion 10.7.1 on an older iMac (2007). I have upgraded to iTunes 10.5 and now my iPod Touch or iPad1 are not recognized by itunes. (Not having the spinning ball problem yet, can't even get that far!)
Not a good day to be an apple support person..... Lets hope they get this resolved soon. Not a good omen for IOS 5 and iCloud.
Also getting same problem with an iPhone 4 connecting to iTunes 10.5 in OS 10.5.8, so it's not just Snow Leopard or Lion.
one hour of spinning beachball-the iphone is updated
I have iTunes 10.5 on both my computers. My iphone 4 and Ipad2 says it has the most recent updates of 4.3.5. When I select check for updates it says you have the most updated version. won't even give me the option of udating to ios 5. HELP?
iOS 5 hasn't been released yet, so there isn't anything to upgrade to. It should be released later today, sounds like around 1:00 eastern.
Running 10.7.1 on a new Macbook Pro with iPhone4. Upgraded to 10.5 iTunes and it does not find my iPhone or iPad when connected
I originally upgraded to 10.5 from Software update, I just downloaded 10.5 from the Apple web site and installed manually and it then found my devices.
Same problem with a Windows Vista PC, iPod Touch 3rd gen 32 Gb. After 10 mins iTunes displayed an error and started syncing.
45 minutes of spinning beachball and my phone got syncing. Im on Lion 10.7.1 with an iPhone 4. 15 min. away form iOS 5!
Not for me. iTunes crashes if I wait long enough.
