Getting "Protection Error" msg due to same serial number on network

Hello Finale Cut Studio users,

I've run into an annoying problem here and I was wondering if anyone else has dealt with this issue who is working in a similar situation as me?

I take care of eleven student iMac workstations, all of which are exact clones of a master iMac that I maintain. All software is installed on master iMac - I then image it and then place copies of the image on all the other iMacs.

Just recently received a compaint regarding "Final Cut Pro". Apparently, it is "network aware", and checks the network to see if an instance of itself is up and running.

I figured, OK, I'll just log into each student iMac workstation and simply change the registration number. Guess what ... doesn't appear to be any way to do this. (I'm in possesion of eleven individual copies of FCS)

Does anyone know of a way around this short of having to actually re-install FCS on each individual iMac computer that I maintain?

What makes this especially troublesome is the fact that all the commercail applications installed on my Macintosh computers are "keyed". They are running under the control of a license server. (I've done this to prevent software piracy ... not to control licensing).

Any ideas?

cheers,

iMac 27", Mac OS X (10.6.7)
