Hey guys,
Sharing this information I have for all of you trying to update to IOS 5 today in Australia.
The new iOS5 update would be available 12 October 2011 US time, so would be available in Australia nearly tomorrow. I have confirmed this with Apple Tech guy on phone.
Looking forward to download it as soon it becomes available here 🙂
Please share all your thoughts on this new software update by APPLE.

You are probably wrong. Given past history it was available at around 10:00am PDT. Figure out what time that is in Australia, may be on the 13th for you.

I am waiting for:
- Camera feature of using volume button to click photos
- notification feature
- iMessage
- PC free
- Reminders

No, 16 hours and 50 minutes to go if past history is any indication.
If I could, I would fly to Australia, update my phone, and fly back to California just so I can have the update. LOL
Or, since I have my CIS-1A class tomorrow, I might just back up my phone before I leave for school, save the backup on my Flash Drive, then install iTunes on the pc I'm using, update it, and be ready for my day to continue. =)

I fail to see they quoted anyone from Apple. As I said above this year could be different but in the past it has been at the time I stated. Apple has never told anyone in advance what time an update would be released. If you can find that statement on the Apple website that would be different.
Software update is free deggie, there is no money involved here for this upgrade!!

Look at my post and see what name it says I was responding to. It wasn't to you, it was to the gentleman who wanted to fly to Australia to update first then fly back to California. I resonded to him that he would be wasting his money (to buy the airline ticket) and time (to fly there and back). I know the update is free.
