What do I need to go wireless

I am aware that this is a very stupid question but I have an apple Ipad and I want to subscrbe to a wireless internet provider. If I want to use someone like Wanadoo do I need an external wireless modem?

I use Wanadoo for my internet and they will provide you with a wireless modem that i use. I can say however that is isn't officially Mac-compatable and the connection is ruthlessly unreliable. I'm meant to be getting 1mbps but when i google "speedtest" and use one it turns out i'm getting more like 800kbps! I reccomend (if you can) going with blueyonder as this is what i have at my Dad's. It is a cable connection @ 2mbps *VERY FAST* The modem has just an ethernet cable that goes into my Airport Express and then its all cushty!

Hey David,
I use telewest for my internet, best there is by the way. If you haven't had it installed yet then they can set it up wireless for you although it would probably be cheaper to go to PC World or somewhere like that and buy a wireless router then just connect that directly to the modem once it is in and follow the instructions. I did it for my monster-in-law with her pc laptop and it was a doddle, plus any time i am up there fixing it for her i take my iBook and it connects straight away. Good luck, let us know how you get on.
