Hi

Every time I try to update iTunes it will not install. I have to uninstall everything from Apple - restart - reinstall etc. iTunes & Quicktime and MS Windows is just not good friends. The old storiy about Apple being so userfriendly and all - it´s crap. iTunes is so crappy - non-logical userinterface - why can´t you just take files and put into folders etc? I really dislike iTunes - and even more when it never want to be updated without all this uninstalling, reeboot, reinstalling. I use 2 hours on updating everytime.

So Apple - please look into mS Windows 7 64 bit compatibillty - there must be something wrong when so many people are having issues when trying to install updates from Apple.

I also cannot install iTunes 10.5. I am running Windows 7 64-bit edition. I have seen this error before when I did the last update to iTunes. However, I just ignored the error and the install process continued. This time I cannot ignore this error and iTunes will not install at all.

I am not sure if it is how Windows is setup or if it is my virus scanner that is causing this issue. My laptop came with McAfee installed. I will try to disable the virus scanner tonight and see if the install will then take.

Xoomtell..

You are right on the money. Apple doesn't seem to understand the concept of system testing...before rolling out an update.

There are many people having significant problems with iTunes 10.5 right now, and the response from Apple has been total silence.

I give them 24 more hours, and then I buy another phone. They should have ditched iTunes years ago.

Add me to the ever-growing list. Been trying to install 10.5 for the best part of a day on Win7 64 SP1. Tried every trick I can think of, including full uninstall, removing Registry entries, Registry cleaner, Windows updates and downloading iTunes from FF, Chrome and IE.

Very disappointed with this and I'm rapidly approaching a point where I'll just stick with the old software and say to **** with the updates.
