wow.. i think you actually just made it more confusing towards the last part about the photos. which made me puzzled as to why you posted the question that followed - because in your current reply you made it (iCloud and ID's) seem like you knew it all too well.

yes, I only use "official" mail. yep, definitely aware of the Syncing process of Photos using usb cables and how iTunes can "wipe" away the data from your phone if you wrongly check certain boxes.

I understand it's advice and i appreciate it 🙂, just that it's a little off topic from what I was asking. (Not that you have to answer my query or anything).

I am very much clear about having 2 ID's if I had 2 different iDevices . But what I was getting at was for a single iDevice.

My initial enquiry was about Advantages/Disadvantages of having 2 ID's used within the Same Device. Whether it would be beneficial in some way or why some people might do this? (because I am contemplating this and want to hear from others who have tried/understand/do it this way)

sorry didn't mean to confuse you. the other post you made the page before this, has now confused ME. lol

The post where you said...

Simply make sure your husband keeps the Apple ID password and username/email so he can continue using that Apple ID.

If you still need the apps etc, then tap 'Keep on iPhone'. If you don't then remove - you can still get back the Data stored using that particular Apple ID/iCloud sign-in, but only via that Apple ID.

*My advice: 'Keep on iPhone' - just to be safe since we're still new with iCloud.

Nx you can proceed to create a new iCloud account, which will require you to create another Apple ID. but as usual, you won't be able to "transfer" any apps from your current ID to the new one.

Cheers

I just updated iPad, and iPhone to iOS5. I synced these devices with my iMac on iCloud. Calendars and contacts synced just fine. However for some strange reason I can no longer sync any music on my 32 GB iPhone. iTunes is telling me that I am beyond the phone's capacity with an "Other" item that is nearly as large as my 23 GB music collection. Am I missing something here? It was just fine until I made the move to iOS5. I wonder if Apple is busy trying to fix all the problems they have now created with this new iOS. I knew I should have waited until the next update. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I've discovered that some things: Specifically Calendars and Documents that are shared on iCloud cannot be kept. If you change the iCloud account, it will delete all of your calendars in iCal (even ones you had prior to ever joining iCloud). I've lost everything. 😟 I believe I can get it back by signing in with the old iCloud account, copying all of the data, and then signing out and back in with my new iCloud and manually entering all of the data again... Ugh. This whole process is awful.

I was able to change the account on her phone but first I had to turn off all streaming accounts like photos, calendar, etc... then deleted the iCloud account before being able to add her iCloud account. I was able to do it without loosing any information stored on her phone. It took me a while though...

It is done now. 🙂

I was able to change the Apple ID in the iCloud setting by first deleting the iCloud account under "Mail, Contacts, Calendars". Once deleted, I just added a new account using my Apple ID.

-->>

When you press Delete it will ask if you like to keep your files in the Iphone. Press on keep ..

Then delete account and make a new one.

Worked !!

When i go to delete the account it is still asking for my apple ID password. The reason I don't have a password is the original email entered in ICloud I NO LONGER HAVE. The account doesn't exist anymore and I haven't had it in three years and can't remember the password. So, now that I got the new Iphone 5s and am trying to get my stuff on it, I can't do anything without that originial password. I need to change my Icloud account, but without entering in the old password at some point I can't seem to do anything...

I need help please.
