I recently noticed that some have 2 holes at the top of the face and some do not. Mine has 1. I have read it is for the proximity sensor I believe. All the white models I have seen have the 2 holes. Is is an older or newer model kinda thing?
Is the hole in the center a camera hole?
The black and white iPhones are the same (except for the color). One hole is your ear speaker. Above it is the proximity sensor. It is not a hole in the glass front but a whole in the underlying material where the proximity sensor is located. You can see this hole with the white material, but it is hard to see with the black material, but it is still there.
I do not have the 2nd hole, I promise. I just have the single long oval speaker hole. I am not including the camera hole of course.
Yes you do. Every Black iPhone has it, thats the way they are made. You can not get one without it. It is very hard to see, shine a very bright light at the right angle and you can see it. ....and it is not a hole in the glass, on the white iPhone. It is a hole or opening in the material (white or black) for both white and black iPhone under the glass.
The white ones don't have 2 "holes" either. It's just easier to see the proximity sensor behind the glass because it contrasts with the white facing of the phone. Trust me, the black one has the same thing, you just can't see it.
its not visible on black models for obvious reason... its because they're of the same colour, so you won't see them.
