Cannot create account "The device is no longer eligible for creating an Apple ID."

I am also facing the same issue with iCloud on OS X 10.7.2.

Whenever I try to sign in it says "Account Limit Reached : This device is no longer eligble for creating an Apple ID". I'm trying to use iCloud services for the first time.

im having the same issue and cant find any help on the icloud help site its useless but my apple id works on everything else

I also have the same problem: Either if I try to generate a new Apple ID,Message or when I try to use my old .mac address, which I use in the App-Store and on iTunes, I get the Account Limit Reached message.

I just upgraded to 10.7.2, but by now I am convinced that "upgrading" from 10.6 was a mistake, instead of fixing the copious problems with 10.7 Apple is creating new ones.

Give it some time. iCloud "just" went online and although big companies should be aware, that a bazillion of users will register / subscribe on Day One of a new feature, in most cases (like Sony's PSN, Microsoft and others) these things never work out as planned.

So be patient and wait a few hours or even some days and then give it a try. I'm pretty sure the whole iCloud Network is right now under "heavy fire".

I'm having the same problem on my iMac.

Try to sign in with my ID/app store account but get this message

Account Limit Reached
This device is no longer eligible for creating an Apple ID.

Im not trying to create an Apple ID, just trying to sign in with my existing Apple ID.

I am in the same situation since upgrading to 10.7.2.

I can sign in in Apple Store, Itunes Store and App Store with the same Appl ID, as always.

I will try to go tomorrow to the Genius Bar

I talked to my friend who works at an Apple store. He said that they having some issues but it should be ok later.

So we just got to keep trying i guess

same here., sorry i too don't have any answeres ., but is this because of absence of my macbook serial number from system profiler ? it is simply not there ever since i got it back from a repair. Please someone comeup with answer .,

yeap, more here. I think it might be somrthing with authorising and deauthorising computers (just a thought)

The problem was in absence of serial number in the system. SN was dissapeared after replacement of system board. I've addressed the issue to the serivce center and make some "magic" with my MBP. It took about 2 minutes and now i have SN and access to iCloud.

How did you get the serial number back in mines missing for the same reason apple had to replace the logic board.

authorized services have specialized soft for serial number updating. If it is missing in the system - they just take it from e.g. unibody and put it in the system using their soft.

From some google research, it looks like the apple techs use a disc called "Blank Board Serializer" to copy the serial number from a blank board. Unfortunately, it is only available to download from some restricted apple site, and not to ordinary users like me, instead I am suppose to go to a repair shop (again....)
