When I try to set up me iCloud ID with my Apple ID in OS X lion I get this:
Account Limit Reached
This device is no longer eligible for creating an Apple ID.
I have never been in the beta program or anything so I really don't get it?

im having the same issue and the icloud help site is useless
I have the same issue as well, I realize that the limit is three, but I only have one apple device. Perhaps this will be resloved soon since iCloud is so new.
Same problem here. Ive only ever had 1 Apple ID, i dont use mobileme or anything. So no chance of me reaching my limit and im getting this message

Same problem here. Some people say it is due to the fact that the main logic board has been replaced and the serial number is messed up. This applies to my macbook air
Ahh that makes sense. Mine Macbook Pro Logic board has been replaced as well and has no serial number. And when I tried to register via my work Mac Pro it worked just fine.
ahhh i had to have mine replaced as well hopefully apple will fix that i shouldnt be penalized because i had to have my macbook pro logic board replaced while it was still under warranty and still is under warrabty its nit even a year old
Well, I also logged on to iCloud with my iMac and then i re-tried from my MBA and it worked! So, maybe you just need a device with a correct S/N to "break in", or maybe it was just a temporary glitch.
Yeah, they changed the motherboard on my MB too approximately a year ago. There must be something about this if we all have our motherboard changed. I'm sure we are not alone however, so there must be a solution or a patch soon...
My motherboard was changed as well an now my MBP where the serial number should be displayed in info it only says this:
System Serial#
I think there must be a connection. Is there a way to fix this other than going to the apple store again and giving my laptop away... support by apple ***** so hard I cant understand how they get away with that.
From some google research, it looks like the apple techs use a disc called "Blank Board Serializer" to copy the serial number to a blank board. Unfortunately, it is only available to download from some restricted apple site, and not to ordinary users like me, instead I am suppose to go to a repair shop (again....)

I havent had anything replaced. All i did was update and after that there was no system serial.. And yes it was there before.
same problem with a replaced motherboard under warranty.
