Oct 12, 2011 12:05 PM in response to checkyourmirrorsby TomStapes,During the install, I got a message "Error occurred while restoring this iPhone (-32)" message, yet it booted up, and after a couple of hiccups during the settings process for iOS5, I was able to get on, but with only about 18 of my 215 (literally) apps.
Minor panic ensued, thinking I would have to go through the App Store and restore them all individually back onto my iPhone.
But I opened up my iPhone (3GS, BTW) in iTunes, and is started to sync my apps back to my machine.
Thank goodness.
Here is hoping that it all goes well.
Good luck!

Oct 12, 2011 12:06 PM in response to checkyourmirrorsby Brian Feller,Same error here. This is for an ipad2, though. first it failed to backup and said if I clicked ok all data would be wiped from my uipad. I clicked cancel then it backed up fine when I clicked Update again. The iOS5 software itself took 3 attempts to download, failing after 500MB and 698MB. Then after the software was extracted, I got the 3200 error. trying again but no high hopes.

Oct 12, 2011 12:07 PM in response to checkyourmirrorsby RB86,Same thing here kinda *****. Everything went fine till the extraction, i get error 3200 everytime. When i want to restore the iPhone the same error. After rebooting same problem , after all that i tried it in DFU but still the same problem. Hate it and want to get it fixed!
Suggestions anyone?

Oct 12, 2011 12:08 PM in response to checkyourmirrorsby markfromstroud,I also suspect a heavily over-worked server. I've given up on my 3GS upgrade & am now downloading the Ipad version - rather slowly.
I'll cross my fingers, but may give up and leave it until the morning.
Mind you, trying to log into the Icloud account from Win control panel also said my account had not been converted - when I went through the process one hour earlier... Hey ho. Suppose I shouldn't be impatient.

- apple logo + progress bar for about 2 seconds
- spinner for about 3 minutes, then fades to...
- black screen for 5 seconds
and repeat ad infinitum!

Oct 12, 2011 12:13 PM in response to LeoBrownby LloydOwen,Your iPhone isn't dead, it's a software/server issue. As you can see your not the only one having the problem. Just keep trying....
