"could not activate iphone" after iOs 5 update..Help?

I agree, spent an hour and a half on the phone being passed from one "techie" to another all of whom did not seem to care about my problem.

I have the 32gB 3Gs which was repaired and jailbroke. I like the OS5 on my iphone4 so decided to upgrade my 3GS. Now it's not activating. Tried rebooting, Dotted all the i's and crossed all the t's. Att replaced sim card. Apple requires $30 for phone support! Guess I'll have to trash this iphone as nothing seems to work.

Ok, but is that solution working for iOS 5.0.1? Because my iPhone stuck at the activation step on iOS 5.0.1.

Yes... this works for those who stucks at 5.0.1. You just need to follow the steps of the video of result and downgread your ios from 5.0.1 to 5.0. Thats it.

Ok, but I can't downgrade to iOS 5.0 because iTunes is giving me this error: This Device Isn't Eligible For The Request Build. Maybe thats because I have an iPad baseband, but I have also tried to restore with an custom iPad baseband ipsw. But iTunes was giving me the same error. Somebody know how to fix that?

HEY I LIVE IN CHINA AND EXPERIENCING THE SAME PROBELM. it wont activate my phone and it said to try later. ive tried restarting computer and my iphone. the screen says "connect to itunes" and i did, but itunes cannot activate it!

Finally I'm able to get it back..after downgrading it to software 4.1

hey guys if you guys R having problems wit activating the iPhone 5.0.1 downgrade it to somewhere 4.1 or 4.3.3 or 4.2.1 or any kind of firmware that is below 5.0 lots of people are having trouble with this a lot

You will be given instructions to download 2 files. The following link is for a file I had real problems with as it wanted to download as a .zip file. You dont want that to happen so when the "save as " box pops up just select all files and add the file extension .ipsw to the end of the file name.

Does pressing on "try again" really work? I also have the same problem. Just upgraded it today. I'm getting fed up with this. Had a great working iphone before upgrading tho. PLEASE I need help so as other users.
