I have updated my imac but have not received the verification e-mail for icloud.  I have repeatedly clicked on resend email verification.  Anyone else have this problem?

This most likely means you have a 2nd AppleID that has this same email address listed as an alternate email address for it.

    Manage Your Account at

    http://appleid.apple.com

Check to see if any of your other email addresses or AppleIDs and family members email addresses or AppleIDs have your main email account associated with it as an alternate email… because if they do, it won't send the verification email since it's already verified to another account.

You may need to change your email account to a 3rd or 4th one to disassociate it with this one first; then on the Apple ID website there's a section that says: Not Sure if you have an Apple ID? Find Out >

This will help you find the name on the other account and if you cannot get in to that account you should be able to receive a password reset to it.

If you cannot find the account you can try emailing iTunes and/or call Apple and check if they can find the account that is still associated with the email address you are trying to use for this.

    iTunes Support - Email Option:

    http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact.html

    iPhone technical support: (U.S.)

    1-800-MY-IPHONE (1-800-694-7466)

iPod, Mac and iPad technical support: (U.S.)

    1-800-APL-CARE (1-800-275-2273)

(if you call they MAY be able to grant an exception to the phone support of your device due to it being an account problem or iCloud problem)

Alternatively you can always set up a new email account with gmail, yahoo, aol, etc.. and change your account to that one so you still have your account media it'll just be under a different email address than you're used to.

    Hi all,

I was able to get iCloud going. I think the additional issue was their system being down for me to see my ID properly and to re-generate the verification email.

    Thanks.

Did you lose all the apps and music you had with our old apple id?

I had the same issue and just fixed it. In my case, the reasons why I was not receiving the verification email was that my email was being used as sencondary email of my wife's account. Your email might be in use in another account. Good luck

Also, on my iphone, when I tried to set up iCloud using my long time apple id which was not an email address, it told me I had to use an email address.  So I set up another id using my email address.  Now it will not verify....

As I have two email addresses, I switched the email address associated with my account from one to the other.

I immediately received an iCloud email verification and my iPhone began synching.

Short Version: Log into appleid.apple.com with your appleid before you had to add your domain name to it (appleid@yahoo.com).  Click the button that asks to make your email the same as your appleid.

    Long Version:

I just spent 30 minutes on the phone with apple support dealing with this problem.  I didn't have any old emails linked to my account.  The issue for me was when the icloud update came out all apple id's had to be turned into full email addresses.  This created the roadblock b/c I had 2 accounts with the same address.  My original appleid, and the new appleid@yahoo.com that I had to add on.  I fixed it by logging in to appleid.apple.com using my old appleid.  Once in the manage my account section I could click a button that asked if I wanted to make my email address the same as my appleid.  When I clicked the button I was already verified and was able to log right into icloud, itunes, and moblieme.  I hope this helps.

Same here - Apple, major fail.  IOS5 update forced me to change my many-years-old AppleID, only one I have, to be an email address.   Now, Apple itunes store (Mac) & App Store (iPhone) won't let me verify my email address and clicking resend does nothing. No error, no new email.

Worse that that I cannot update apps on my iPhone anymore because it is askign me to login to my OLD non-email ID and gives me a "wrong password" fail every time.  Yes, I signed out in Settings->Store and signed in again with new email based ID but Update is still a fail.

Apple, ***?  You are hardware geniuses but incompetent in software and services. Wow.

I am having  a similar problem.  I get the verification email but when I click on the link it takes me to the apple site to verify it tells me it cannot complete error because of a language code issue.  Does anyone have this same problem or know how to fix this?

What a mess. After reading many of the posts here, I eventually tried the suggestion of changing my email address; the one I've always used as my Apple ID. This address worked fine with iTunes etc, but it did not receive the verification required for iCloud when I upgraded to Lion. So I logged in and changed the address and had that one forwarded to the original. Now works. I just have to use a new address now for everything; iTunes etc. Obviously an error, but it doesn't seem like Apple are acknowledging it.

I also have an Apple developer ID, but that shouldn't have been the point of confusion, as it couldn't let me use that for an iCloud loging (I tried it when everything else failed).

So make sure you have only one visible Apple ID account, then create another email address and maybe forward it to the original. Pretty clunky stuff. Expected better. I only upgraded to Lion to get iCloud.

I'm am wit's end. I can't get the verification emai so I can't sync through the Cloud with my GS4 or my IPad2. Even my Mac tech guru couldn't break through to get the verification email. We're dead in the water here.

It's very frustrating. I had to set up a new email address, which I forward to the email I previously used as my Apple ID. Using my current email was fine for iTunes etc, but it could not be verified (even though it's valid on my Macbook and my iPhone) because it did not send that email.
