IOS 5 and ipad2 dropping wifi connection

After applying the update my ipad2 keeps briefly dropping the wifi connection and then reconnecting, although sometimes it prompts me to choose which network to connect to. No problems before the update and all other devices are connecting fine. Any thoughts?

Similar issue... Updated to IOS 5 last night with no problems. Used the iPad tonight for an hour (no problems). Then wifi stopped working without a reason... the network showed up fine but I'd get an error when trying to reconnect. Finally, I clicked "Forget this Network" in the properties the wifi network and it cleared up the problem... for now anyway. I'm able to connect and maintain a wifi connection without issues.

i have the same problem with mine iPad2.

I had the problem already at iOS4.x and hoped that the problem would by over after the update to iOS5. But no.

1. sometimes i get: NO WIFI (mostly gone after a hard reset),

2. sometimes the ipad don't find any routers (not at home, work or anywhere),

3. sometimes he find a router, but cannot connect,

4. and suddenly i have a couple of seconds, or several houres of connection.

There is for me no explanation what's going on.

I tried every answers on forums and i don't know what to do. I love the iPad but it ***** when you dont't have any wifi.

I hope that Apple comes with a answer.

I have the same issue. Since I updated my Ipad 2 Wifi 64MB to IOS5, it didnt connect to my WLAN. All other devices (Notebook, PC, Iphone 4) worked. Resetting the network on the Ipad didnt help.

What finally worked for me was this: I positioned the Ipad near my router (Speedport W722V). The Wlan repeater (AVM 300e) in my living room obviously couldn't provide a stable connect. When the ipad was next to the router, I could even do an icloud backup. The Ipad kept the connection when I moved it back to the living room, but lost it again after some heavy traffic (ebay app). Moving it back next to the router helped.

I have fixed my problem...

I turned off my wireless router and back on again and now its working fine..

after spending ages resetting to ipad and mucking aroung with my home router settings, all I had to do was to turn it off then back on..

Hope this helps others..

yep, same issue here.....

I changed my router channel and it fixed the problem for a while...

I changed my router to wireless "n" only and it worked again for a while..

now I have not a clue...

Thank you Michael. Before I did anything (changing device settings), I looked in these forums and tried restarting the wifi router (airport extreme) and everything worked like before. This solved the following problems:

1. ios 5 devices were not connecting to wifi. Worked fine previous to the upgrade

2. only my macbook pro was able to connect to wifi. My windows pc also lost connection to wifi

3. Airport assistant detected no problems eventhough the internet connection was on off

This is what I did: cold restarted the airport extreme with unplugging, waiting for 20 secs, and replugging the router.

Everything is back to normal.

I was having the same problem with my Ipad 2 (64Gb, wifi 3g model) - both before and after the update to iOS 5.

After turning off the cellular data I have not had any problems with wifi dropping out. This is a minor inconvenience compared to the previous annoyance of having to continually turn off and on again the wifi to get it to reconnect!

I have been searching the forums / net for an answer on this issue since I got my ipad 2 (about two weeks ago now). I am disappointed that Apple seems to be ignoring the large amount of complaints on this issue. In my humble opinion they should recognise that there is an issue and then post an update.
