Has anyone successfully converted their Quicken for Mac to Windows?

If so, how did you do it?

I am trying to import a QIF file created by Quicken 2002 for Mac to Quicken 2008 running in Widows XP in Parallels Desktop without success.

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.6.8), iPhone 3G

I know about that page. It has obsolete information. It talks about OS9 and the International tab in System Preferences which is for older OSX systems. I did all they recommended and it doesn't work.

This is an Apple message board for Apple users. I believe I have every right to ask if any Mac users have successfully accomplished what I asked. Parallels is a Mac application. This is a Windows Software section of the board.

If you know of any other source that states: "Yes, I have done that successfully and this is how I did it" I would be delighted to know about that source.

Cheers.

I suggest that you do a search on this board with the word "Quicken" and if you are not already aware of it, you may be surprised how many others on this message board are asking questions about Quicken, especially due to the fact that Lion no longer contains Rosetta and Quicken for Mac will no longer run on Mac computers with the Lion OS.

You may wish to answer all of them the same way you answered me.

No thanks to you that you have now ruined my post.

This is my last word.

It is a good thing it is your last word. We tried to help you by offering suggestions. You in response attack us. It only is common sense to post Quicken, Windows, XP, etc. questions in the forums where the respective experts hang out. Would you ask an Apple question in the XP forums? I suspect that if you did you would helpfully be advised to ask your Apple question in the Apple forums.

Your question is Quicken related. It is not an Apple, XP, Windows, Parallels, etc. question. So I reiterate that you should seek expert advice from the Quicken experts at the Quicken site.

I'm with Ralphjh. I need to know the exact same thing and have gone to the Intuit website which does indeed give outdated information on converting Quicken for Mac to Quicken for Windows. I don't want to invest in both Windows for Mac and another version of Quicken only to find out the data import is inadequate. Of course the Intuit website tells you it will work, but I want to know if it *really* does from someone who has done it!

Ralph, Judee, after much frustration, I finally succeeded in converting my Quicken for Mac 2007 data to a (whisper) Windows Quicken 2012 data file:

From Quicken for Mac, export to .QIF using "selected items," creating a separate .QIF file for each item (categories, accounts, transactions, etc.). I only exported those three.

In Quicken for PC, import each .QIF individually. The order I imported was (1) accounts, (2) categories, and (3) transactions.

Hope this helps!
