Dec 17, 2011 5:08 AM in response to djb06by JJR-1964,There's a solution to your problem posted on the first page of the discussion, I think. After turning off photostream on all of your devices, you have to go to the iCloud website, click "Advanced," and then delete your photographs from iCloud. Once you've done that the superglue will unstick.

Dec 17, 2011 5:29 AM in response to JJR-1964by djb06,Thanks for that, the solution actually worked! I was confused by all the related postings which suggested it was not possible

Dec 17, 2011 5:32 AM in response to djb06by igmackenzie,The postings have been about deleting individual photos, not removing them all. If that is what you wanted to do, then that solution has always been available, and has been mentioned many times here.
You were asking about removing a private photo, and, at the moment, there is no facility to do that in isolation.

Dec 17, 2011 7:45 AM in response to lucasc5by poo2head,the easiest way is just delete your iCloud account and then re-sign it again. That will help to delete photostream.

Dec 17, 2011 8:27 AM in response to poo2headby igmackenzie,OMG, I don't believe this thread! That does not work. Whenever you reinstate your account, the photos will return.
Look, the simple facts (at the moment) are:
1) you cannot delete individual photos in PS
2) the only way to delete any photos is to delete them all by resetting the Photostream on iCloud.com.
Anything else -apart from some iPhoto workarounds - will NOT work.

Dec 17, 2011 2:47 PM in response to igmackenzieby Andrew Davies1,I saw this thread and read few a couple of posts and thought "aha this started in oct if I now shift to the end of the thread, surely they will have fixed it by now" guess Apple aren't listening again. Looks like photo stream is now off. Remind me what iCloud does for me again?

Dec 17, 2011 2:52 PM in response to Andrew Davies1by Andrew Davies1,Ok I have now gone back a few pages and see a fix is coming so I'll take that back :-)

Dec 17, 2011 3:10 PM in response to Andrew Davies1by rogerfromrotherham,Yep - after all our squabbles it looks like Apple is reacting - suggest we now wait to be told exactly what the solution is, try it once released, then start again!...only this time can we be more constructive and positive in our discussion rather that try to prove how technically advanced we think we are compared to others - have faith guys - Apple gives us a good deal in the end...

Dec 17, 2011 3:24 PM in response to lucasc5by Ollieee,I have kind of found a way around apples pathetic attempt at iCloud and photo stream.
The best way I have found to get this done is, I.e. if you have a 'private' photo on your phone which has gone into photo stream, turn photo stream off, which will cause it to delete the whole picture library.. Then delete the 'private' photo(s), turn photo stream back on and it will sync whatever's in the iPhone library, hence getting rid of the photos you don't want.
Hope this helps.

Dec 17, 2011 3:28 PM in response to Ollieeeby igmackenzie,No, that doesn't work. The photo is still in the stream. See my post 3 or 4 above.

Dec 17, 2011 3:29 PM in response to Ollieeeby gforce118,I have a question. How do I unsubscribe from this ridiculous thread? I really don't want another 18000 emails saying turn photo stream on and off and delete all my photos. This is not the answer and why bother repeating what another 17999 people have said before you?
Read the whole discussion first before posting.
I know we can't delete single photos yet that's the whole point. Until then my main priority is to stop this mail spam full of inane suggestions.

Dec 17, 2011 4:04 PM in response to gforce118by igmackenzie,Simple, look at the top right of this page, and you'll see 'stop email notifications'. I'm about to do the same as this thread is a joke.

Dec 17, 2011 4:22 PM in response to gforce118by Tunderhill,So much ego here. So much insecurity. "convince others of their tech superiority"? Some people here actually work in tech. Nobody is coming to your jobs and telling you how to do them or that they know more than you. The engineers in this forum who have given their input are not doing it for their own benefit. We already know the answers. We already know about the fix in the beta release. We are trying to help some people here figure out fixes and work arounds. It is out of the kindness of our hearts. You don't know the first thing about how to build or program or architect solutions. You just buy iphones the day they come out and then complain behind the safety of a help board. This board is to help consumers learn to use their devices better and to understand the functionality of their devices. This is not to listen to 50 year olds debate the competency of Apple. You are like armchair QB's complaining about Aaron Roger's performance. You are not qualified and if you are not qualified, nobody cares what you have to say since it offers nothing. Go back to your day jobs and let the people who need help ask for it and receive it. The fix is coming in the next update. Now close this forum and go buy more products so we can make more money.
