Which is no answer at all. Perhaps you are just not aware of the issue. Do you have access to Google. Try asking the question there and see if you can better understand the question.

As has been pointed out many times in this thread, you have two choices:
1. Maintain the "old" ID so that you can sign into it when requested to download updates, or to re-download past purchases for that media. That means that your Computer must have that ID authorized to it. I find that it is also easier to make the password to the "new" ID be the same as the password to the new ID, so I don't have to pay attention which one is asking for a passcode.
2. OR - you can delete all of the media that was purchased or downloaded (if free) by the "old" id, and then re-purchase or re-download (if free) under your new ID.
