Just updated to iCloud. The sync icon for MobileMe, which is now useless, is stuck in the menubar. The option to remove it seems to have disappeared from System Preferences.
What can I do?

Sign out from all your iCloud and Mobile Me accounts in your mac, then in System Preferences open Mobile Me (not Mail, Contacts and Calendar) and sign in. Then in Mail, Conctacts and Calendar set up you iCloud account and it won't be set up as a primary "apple" account. With this you will still be able to acces Mobile Me panel.
You can remove the icon by holding down CMD while you drag it off the menubar.

Just (Command + Drag) the MobileMe sync icon off of the menu bar.

That isn't working for me. I've never used MobileMe or iCloud, and have no accounts for either. As soon as I click on the MobileMe icon in the menubar, it launches the Perf pane, which is a sign-up for MobileMe. Which if I follow that, it takes me to the signup page for iCloud at Apple. So I can't simply get the icon on the menu bar to highlight, therefore I can't drag it off the menubar, even with [command] held down. Is there another way (maybe with a line command in Terminal) to remove it?
