I have activation issues in 3GS after move to iOS5

same here. it's keep saying SIM card is missing (from itune) and activation server is temporarily unavailable. (from the phone.) hoping to find some answer. 🙂

Exactly the same here - come on, it should not be that diffficult to bring out an uodate that is free of bugs from the outset!

I have 3G problems with the "Personal Hotspot" function.... When the tetherd "ipad" gets connected, after a long delay, the "Verizon 3G" indicator goes to "Verison O".

Everything worked great before IOS5.....

Hi i am a 3GS user had no problems with phone prior to upgrade but now i am getting the same ie claimes no sim card and it cant upgrade , its been 2 days now thats 2 days without my moby which i rely on for my job , thanks apple least you can do it fix the problem.

Having the same problem, fellow iphone user. All we can do is just wait for the activation servers to get some space, it is really clogged up from all the users who are trying to update to ios5 around the world.

Same problem here, after updating my 3gs to iOS 5.

"There is no SIM card installed in the iPhone you are attempting to activate"

"Your iPhone could not be activated because the activation server is temporarily unavailable. Try connecting your

iPhone to iTunes to activate it, or try again in a couple of minutes."

Is there any solution yet??

wow,seems to be quite a problem as this is not the only forum i have seen this on, are Apple aware of this and if so can they help us rectify it. Saw one forum where the owner had taken it to an apple shop to be told it was useless and he should buy another one. Dont think that is the case but can anyone help with a fix for this.

I HAVE THE SAME **** ISSUE!! My phone says "Your iPhone could not be activated beacuse the activation server is temporarily unavailable.Try connecting your iPhone to iTues to activate it, or try again in a couple of minutes. It also says on iTunes "There is no sim card installed in the iPhone you are attmepting to activate"

I NEED HELP ASAP AS I USE THIS PHONE FOR BUSINESS.

There are 2 common causes for this problem:

1. Your antivirus or firewall is blocking access to gs.apple.com on port 443

2. Your network database is corrupted because you once used your computer to hack or jailbreak an iPhone. See this link to resolve it -->http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3297, "Blocked by configuration" section.
