Can't add reminders!

I must be one of the few that have got ios5 onto my iphone without too much trouble..

Other than multiple emails.

Sadly though reminders doesnt seem to be working. I've tried tapping all the white on the screen. Scrutinising the entire app looking for a plus icon to no avail.

Exactly how DO I add reminders to my little list? I was really excited about this and I can't find a plus icon anywhere!

It should indeed have a plus sign to the right of the word reminders

Try closing the app completely ( double tap the home screen...in the bottom line find Reminders and press and hold...when the minus sign appears touch the app and it will close. Hit the home button again.)

Now reopen the reminders app.

If that doesn't work, there a problem with the app itself and you'll need to either rein tall or contact a genius bar to find out what's wrong.

I have the same issue in Reminders (iPhone 4s, iTunes 5.0, Windows XP). I never had an Edit button in my reminders. I thought that was very strange. Then I tried to add a Reminder through Siri, and she told me I couldn't do it. It's like the Reminder app is completely bricked. I also have no Reminders settings at all in Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars. Supposedly, I should have some settings.

Go to settings, then click "mail, contacts, calendars," then select iCloud. You'll see mail, contacts, calendars, reminders and etc. Make sure next to reminders it says "ON", if not tap the screen where it says "OFF" to turn the reminders "ON". Hit home button to return to home screen, double click to shut down the app, reopen the app, swipe to the left and you will see a reminders page with the plus button. You can even tap one of the two dots at the bottom of the page to get to the reminders page(sort of like the dots to the bottom of the IOS home screen). Enjoy!

I am able to solve the problem.

I did follow Genius76 instruction & i was able to see the '+' sign, but as soon as i switch off iCloud for reminders the '+' sign vanished.

I did try one more time i switched on iclouds for reminder & then added i dummy entry for reminder & then i switched off the reminder. Then i deleted the dummy reminder entry & voila Reminder '+' sign was there & working.

My screen in Reminders is identical to what CTechie illustrated for us above.

However, when I attempt to follow instructions as per Genius76, I go to Settings / Mail, Contacts, Calendars / iCloud, and the Reminders app shows "On" already. I turned it "Off" deleted the Reminders currently saved on the iPhone. (No change in appearance of Reminders screen at that point.) Then I went back and moved the switch to "On" for Reminders once again. Then back out to Home Screen, double-click to shut-down Reminders, then re-open it, and still no "+" sign anywhere in the app. (I did successfully upgrade to iOS 5 on my iPad2, so at least I have an example of what I'm supposed to be seeing on my iPhone 3GS for Reminders.)

What I'd really like to do is uninstall/reinstall Reminders on my iPhone 3GS, but since it's not an App Store app, but a part of the iOS, I can't see how to do it? When I follow the link provided by RonAnnArbor (http://www.maclife.com/article/howtos/how_reset_ios_apps) it only seems to be pertinent to App Store apps that provide a 'black X' when you press and hold them on the home screen. Reminders does not do that?

Any suggestions?

Update: After completing my post, above, I went back in and Voilá! There is now a "+" visible within Reminders. Maybe it just took a moment to update, maybe my eyes overlooked it the first time I rebooted after turning Reminders "Off" and then back "On" in Settings / Mail, Contacts, Calendars / iCloud.

It appears to be working now.

Now, if I could just ensure iPad2, iPhone 3GS and MacBook Reminders were all syncing wirelessly, I'd be set!

Aaargh! So confused! Apparently, I only see the "+" in Reminders when iCloud Reminders (in Settings) is set to "Off" on my iPhone 3Gs. When I set it back to "On" (and reboot the app) the "+" disappears. (?!)

On my iPad2, however, Reminders appears to work as designed because I have the "+" available to me while Reminders is set to "On" in Settings / iCloud. Then, inside the Reminders app, I have lists "On My iPad" and lists that are on "iCloud". (Two seperate sub-headings in Reminders.)

Of course, what I want is for the lists I've created on my iPad2 under "iCloud" to auto-sync with my iPhone 3Gs, and so far, that isn't happening....

Still struggling...
