my ipod touch's wifi was working perfectly fine before updating to the new iOS 5, now i cannot select wifi in settings its grey and says "No WiFi"

Same issue here with a Verizon iPhone... not sure what happened. I'm going to call the Apple Store tomorrow and see what they think.
Same problem for me...tried to "reset all network settings" but did not work...
Now trying to restore it from itunes...will update you later.

Frequently it si due to a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.
It works now actually, I turned it off holding the on/off button and left it off the whole night, I turned it on In the morning and the wifi started working again. Maybe this will work for all of you. This is was on my iPod touch 3rd gen BTW.
After restore the iPhone 4 is faster than before also on wifi. awesome.
Hi there, same problem the itouch will not connect to the Wifi encrypted with TKIP+AES Belkin router. I was able to connect to a none encrypted WIFI network and it worked fine.
Looking at the security log on the belkin router, i do not see the request to join coming in...
tried everything to restart itouch, belkin router, etc.. still no way to conect
is this a bug ?

It contains troublehoooting. However, frequently it is due to a hardware problem.
I lost had no or very short wifi connection after ios5 update on my laptop/iPod/iPad. Tried everything - tonight I changed the channel on my router from "auto" to "2" - seems to have stayed connected fine now. Hope that helps.
I have the same problem after update iOS 5 with iPod touch. Wifi is working well but iPod can not connect.
There is many multiple issues with iOS 5. I can fill up also music library, but it doesn't play, just skip songs and there is no sound.
How can I downgrade to previous version of iOS 4 ???
