Oct 12, 2011 9:36 PM in response to westside03by rossneufeld,I got BELL with same issue, this is my first non-JB iphone and I must say if apple updates are like this i'll be switching, just lost all my photos and the "apple genius" refuses to swap my phone stating that this issue "happens to some users, wait for a update from apple in the next few days" - My business phone, for business isn't working because of an update! now I must wait for another update to fix the update? this is sounding like MS.

Oct 13, 2011 5:22 AM in response to westside03by hkingkong,My wife's iphone 4 has same problem. In hong kong. I suspect it is those older baseband? She tried restoring and rebooting. I am very disappointed in Apple. This is a major screw up. I am glad I didn't restore mine yet.
I think they should let people downgrade os. I understand they don't want people downgrade and jail break but the reality is if your latest OS is not working, u gotto have a backup plan.
Come on Apple this is a software issue. Quick patch needed right now otherwise people can't make calls on their phones!!

Just to make sure it wasn't a PC/Mac issue I have tried the following on each of 2 different windows PC's and a Mac & a MacBook Pro:
New installation/download of the Software update for iPhone 4, and each time putting the phone into recovery mode. I have also been using a new micro sim from O2 - obtained first thing this morning.
You do the maths on how much time this has taken, and guess what it still doesn't work....!
This has to be the most direct way of getting someone to upgrade to a new phone - the day before a new iPhone comes out - coincidence.......hmmm.
Just as a point of interest the iPhone was replaced in May this year, so is relatively new.
I do find it had to believe that there is no word from Apple as to the reason &/or a resolution.
COME ON
