Wrong Apple ID on iCloud Account
Sold my iPad 1. Now with iOS 5, it shows my Apple ID as the iCloud Account ID. How do we change this to the new owner's Apple ID?

Go to iCloud in the settings.
At the bottom of the account there is a big red "Delete Account" button.
Delete it and then enter your new account.

Thank you!
It would be great if it was more clear that you are just removing the icloud account from the iDevice not actually deleting the iCloud account and it's data. Seems to be a lot of messages in these forums about the lack of clarity on this button. Thanks for your clear answer. To remove an iCloud account from an iPad or iPhone just click the Delete Account button and enter the correct AppleID
I have this same problem (iPhone 4S/AT&T). However, when I go delete the iCloud account it tells me to "enter the Apple ID password for XXXXXXXX@XXXX.XXX to turn off Find My iPhone". I'm not able to enter a correct password because the email address designated for this account is wrong. It won't accept any pasword.
It's the same thing for me..
Did you solve this?
I am having this problem too. It is saying the apple ID for deleting icloud from my device is an old apple id which no longer exists (my new phone did a backup that was very out of date). I changed the apple ID under the itunes store, which it accepted, but it is not updating on the computer. I also cant access the icloud.
any idea on how to fix this? currently this is very frustrating.
If the old ID is yours, and if it is an earlier version of your current ID, go to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID. Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change. Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address. You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iDevice, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll. When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud). Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was. Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.
No This does not work either. The Manage Apple ID page does not allow icloud.com accounts as their main email. This has to be the stupidest operating system in the world. How could you people allow a company to foist this crap on you? It allows creating a stupid icloud account with an icloud email. DUH!!!!
