I updated my iphone 4 to iOS 5 today and I finally got around to using iCal, on my iphone and Mac, well I typed out all events on iCal on my macbook, sync'd to my phone and now everytime I try to edit or add an event it tells me "Cannot save event, That event does not belong to that event store" I googled it and came up with nothing.

After some trial and error, here's I got my Calendars on my iPhone 4 (running iOS5) to sync with MobileMe . Deleted all MobileMe account info from my iPhone and then set up a new MobileMe account. Rebooted my iPhone. Everything syncs fine now.

Plugged ifone 4s in and synced using usb port and the damb mac has synced all my mobile me calanders and entries to the iphone 4 replcing what I had entered in the last couple of weeks. All entries were on MY MAC. Can the be retrieved?

I have my own macmini Lion server and about 5 calendars, they sync partially, there seems to be no logic on what it syncs and what not. I tried resetting iPhone, didn't help. Tried deleting CalDAV account and setting it up again, to no use. I use these calendars for work and already missed one appointment, this is frustrating, I'm back to printing out my calendars... how old-fashioned.
After restoring the iphone I managed to get my calenders and entries back but had to be quick and tick the "do not sync calender box" from the mac. Its strange as I cant see MY MAC items on the MAC but can on the phone...
What do you all mean by reboot the iPhone? Are you "Reset All Settings" under the General section of Settings? All my appoitments dissapeared vrrom my iPhone 4. I upgraded to OS 5 a few days ago. I worked fine until today. My appointments still show up on my yahoo calander, but not my iPhone anymore.

Nothing that complicated. I just turned off my iPhone and then turned it back on.
I did that, but it didn't work. I think my iPhone calender is linked in with the calander in Yahoo. I don't know why it is, I never tried to set it up this way. Did my iPhone maybe sync with the iCloud thing (and not yahoo) and now erase all my appointments?

I have managed to get all my calenders back on to my computer by deleting the mobile me account on my Mac. I then suynced manually from my i phone to the Mac. All calenders and entries are fine now. I would like it working wirelessly but this is safer.

I have been having trouble syncing with my iPhone and my iMac since upgrading to ios 5 and Lion. In my case, as a last gasp, I enabled my MobileMe account on both the phone and computer and now syncing is occurring in both directions. I am leery about changing to iCloud however. Right now, it's OK, we'll see.

I'm totally frustrated, as the calendar sync between my brand new IPhone 4s (iOS 5.0.1) and our company's ZIMBRA server using the Exchange protocol doesn't work completely (CalDAV isn't useful as I was not able to accept or reject appointments from the IPhone).
Only parts of my calendar are sync'ed e.g. one appointment out of 3 on one day...
I'm short before using paper calendar again to have a trusted calendar again...
Someone advised me here on the boards in another thread to run the disk utility program on the mac and repair disk permissions. That seemed to do the trick for me.
Yes, rebooting fixed it for me also.
