No photo editing on ipad 1st gen ios5 ?

I'd like to know what the deal with this is as well. I can edit on my 3GS, but not my iPad 1? There is no Apple documentation (such as their iOS 5 user manual) that suggests that this is an iPad 2 only feature. Even though iPad 1 doesn't have a camera, I do have a camera connection kit, and would like to be able to edit pictures on the much larger screen. I wonder if this was just a mistake on Apple's part, one that would be fixed in an update.
I agree. Working with photos is impossible on the original iPad. I was extremely disappointed to find that the ability to move, delete, or rotate a photo was not included as part of iOS 5 upgrade on an original iPad. Extremely disappointed. Extremely disappointed. Boo Hiss Hiss. Shame on Apple! Is this really the best that Apple can do?
I lost the photo rotate feature when i updated to ios5, I feel like ios5 has actually downgraded my ipad1.
Thanks Apple.
Adobe Photoshop Express. Use it. Love it.
Yeah ok we can 3rd party ourselves for the work around....but why does an upgrade take away a very simple and useful feature....is it really that difficult to keep the rotate photo function. I routinely upload photos using the card raeder while onvacation..now I have to open a 3rd party app to perform a simple function....lets patch this on the next update ok kids..
Used it...but now i have to move the photo from the "saved photos" stack to the event or album the photo came from....more steps than before...so its a nice tool but the upgrade now costs me more time...and upgrades are for faster functionality not work-arounds

So apple instead of fixing issue with ipad 1 they put "ipad2" in the ios5 description for guestures, really cool fix apple........Steve Jobs is going to be rolling in his grave soon, sad to say but true, Apple has to keep up the good work by listening or just be a whatever company in the future.........
Thanks HuskieN. I don't think that any of us would have thought of using third party apps or using Apple's feedback system without your timely and verbose interjections.
Now, as far as the issue at hand, I still suspect that this is just an error on Apple's part and that it will be fixed in the next update. I noticed that they very quickly changed their website to reflect the lack of multitouch gestures for the original iPad, but there have been no changed to the photo section. Makes me hope that this will all be sorted soon. Also, sarcasm aside, I do encourage everyone to send feedback about this to Apple, as I have.
I have school, and can't sit on these forums all day like some, and try to provide short and simple answers to things. I'm only trying to help. ._.
interesting turn of events...these are indeed dark and sad times...a quick tour of responses by our colleague HuskieN....does in fact show his/her penchant for short answers to things....and many times they do seem to hit the mark as far as I can tell...
Thank you HuskieN for your advice....yet in your pursuit of pithiness you may want to add more substance (since that is part of the definition of pithyness and being helpful)...since short answers can sometimes lead us wayward souls to pursue the wrong solutions. Should I have gone to http:blahblah/feedback to give feedback on iOS5...on iOS Photo...on my seemingly outdated iPad...all those things? I took your advice and left it on the iPad product feedback section since there was no choice for iOS5 or Photo.
I wish you well in your studies...and please consider adding more to your responses since the spirit of this community is to "support" each other with products that come from 1 Infinite Loop...
I apologize and appreciate your input.
I tend to type more concise when I am without my physical keyboard, and when I have my Apple Wireless Keyboard (which is one great keyboard,) I tend to type more lengthy and accurate responses.
Split keyboard on iPad has definitely made this better, though.
I hope that since multitouch appears to be returning to the iPad 1 that the ability to edit photos comes with it.
Photo editing no, gestures yes. iOS 5.0.1 coming soon.
Cannot Rotate Photos with Camera Connetion kit IPAD 1 with IOS5.
Had the feature before the IOS5 upgrade, now I don't. This is not trivial!
The cammera connection kit is useless on the IPAD1. I cannot rotate pictures on the import.
Using 3rd Party software and saving a second copy in the saved photo is not an option.
Extremely time consuming to open rotate and save each photo.
Apple has taken a device (camera connection kit) and made it useless on the device it was purchased for.
This is rubbish!
