Same here. I had this for a while but didn't care because it wasn't effecting anything. But trying iTunes Wi-Fi Sync and not being able to do it made me think that that error may cause it (Title of the error pop-up says: AppleSyncNotifier.exe). Is it possible? If yes, please tell us a way to solve it. If not I'll try and find another way for the iTunes Wi-Fi Sync thing.

(I have an iPhone 4 and my PC has Windows Vista too)

With Windows Explorer, navigate to your C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support folder.

Copy the libxml2.dll that you should find there, navigate to the nearby Mobile Device Support folder, and Paste it in there also.

Restart the programme all should be well

In case that your OS is (64 bit)

1. Open windows explorer, go to location C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support

2. Copy file "libxml2.dll"

3. Open new windows explorer, to to location C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support

4. Paste file "libxml2.dll" to the location.

5. Restart the programme, it should not display that message, it should be clear.

Good Luck

Hi Hans - I'll do my best 🙂

First I assume you are logged in as adminstrator on the computer you are using. You mention only seeing Mojo Pac in your Program Files, but there would be far more programs listed there. There are several ways you can find your Apple Application Support file folder.

For Windows XP - How to Search for a File or Folder

To search for a file or folder:

  1. ClickStart, and then clickSearch.
  2. In theSearch Companiondialog box, clickAll files and folders.
  3. Type part or all of the name of the file or folder, or type a word or phrase that is in the file.

So in your case it would be Apple Application Support.

If it doesn't show, you will need to make sure that you have enabled the search for hidden files or folders.

To search for hidden or system files in Windows XP:

  1. ClickStart, clickSearch, clickAll files and folders, and then clickMore advanced options.
  2. Click to select theSearch system foldersandSearch hidden files and folderscheck boxes.

Then search again for the Apple Application Support folder.

I'm assuming that you will locate it. Once you have done so - click on it to open it in Windows Explorer.

Then you should locate libxml2.dll - right click on it and select (left click) Copy

On the left side of the window, under Apple Application Support folder, you should see Mobile Device Support - Right Click on it - Select (Left Click) on Paste.

Start your iTunes programme.

Good Luck and let me know how you get on.

I'm having the exact same issue, but when I go to the Common Files/Apple folder, I have no Apple Application Support folder there. There is a Mobile Device Support folder, but it does not contain libxml2.dll. Likewise, searching for Apple Application Support or even searching for libxml2.dll returns no results. (I'm on Windows Vista, if that matters here).

This has been a problem with the last several iTunes updates, but I've always been able to follow similar instructions to these in the past to fix it (since, for some reason, Apple refuses to fix it in their releases despite all the threads dedicated to it). Once this one gets fixed, I'm never updating iTunes again. Something always goes wrong when I do.

Hi Kenny - I'll do my best to help you.

You didn't say if you had a 32 or 64 bit system which would affect where you might find the relevant file.

I cover both options in my post above on Oct 14th.

But you said you have been able to find and fix it before so I assume you know where to find it.

If your Apple Application Support folder really has disappeared then what I would do is to restore my computer to a date before you did your last iTunes update, This should restore all the files and folders you had in place and get you able to sync again.

if you still want to redo the update after that then it would be an idea to make a copy of both folders with their files and store them on your desktop so you can always use these to replace any missing ones after the update.

If you don;t know how to restore your PC to an earlier date please tell me and I'll give you the instructions.

Either way - let me know how you get on.

Best of Luck 🙂
