My iMessage still says "Waiting for activation..."

Updated to iOS5 around noon today. My iMessage still says "Waiting for activation...", someone told me there was a email I was supposed to receive. I never got one. How do I get Apple to resend said email, or more to the point - activate iMessage on my Telus iPhone 4?

Hi, I have the same case with IUSACELL, my odyssey began 5 days ago when myiPhone 4 failed to activate IMessage, which leads to technical support and failed todo anything just send me the team suggested manufacturer for review.

Yesterday V5 chip to buy a place I got the update from the carrier and from thatmoment I began to get the message

"Numero Destino no recibe ReK2 00447786205094"

(translation: Destination number does not receive SMS 00447786205094)

From twitter IUSACELL official commented that the problem is apparently part ofApple UK server is not supporting the IUSACELL messages and are verified.

IUSACELL tech support gave me the following numbers to verify the specialized support iPhone

018003334746 or * iphone

They also say the same thing Apple can not give time to support requests from IUSACELL so have to wait between 24 and 48 hours to see how the situation is resolved.

Also outstanding is the fact that the billing of messages, in my case it took 40 sms in 5 days.

This is an official response from @IUSACELL on Twitter when I questioned them on why they had blocked the verification number in the UK:

No es por parte de Iusacell es general en todas las compañías, Apple está registrando actualización en sus aplicaciones y se presenta este inconveniente. EB

(Translation: (The problem) is not from Iusacell's end, it's happening to all companies, Apple is updating its applications and this is the cause of the inconvenience. EB)

And upon asking on an estimate for Apple completing its upgrades:

No dio tiempo estimado, una disculpa por la molestia que esto te ocasiona, que tengas buena tarde. EB

(Translation: They did not give us an estimate, we apologize for the inconvenience this may cause you, have a good evenin. EB)

It's POSSIBLE that Apple has been updating/upgrading/fixing the system on their end due to an inordinately high-demand compared to their original preparations and projections, but, it's also been nearly two months or more since I initially started having problems both with iCloud backups and iMessage verification. You would think Apple would have already fixed this, if the problem is in fact on their end...

I have to go to Iusacell in a week's time and I'll be consulting with an executive that I've had a 100% success rate in problem solving with Iusacell in the past. I'll see what she has to say about this matter, and/or if she can find a solution to it, because it's getting old to have to use my iCloud account for iMessage. I know it's a seemingly small inconvenience, but it's not, most people have my number, but not my iCloud account, and I would rather not go about handing it out.

I try the following test:

1. Deactivated facetime and iMessage from the previous carrier (telcel)

2. Restored the phone

3. I did not restore from backup, I created a "new" configuration

4. I chose not to get the latest carrier settings.

5. I disconnected the phone, and finish the wizard, again, I chose not to get the latest carrier settings.

6. I tried to activate iMessage and facetime.

7. The same f******* error:

"Numero Destino no recibe ReK2 00447786205094"

(translation: Destination number does not receive SMS 00447786205094)

Jesus f****** christ!

Where are you Steve, you can leave us alone with this st*** people. I cant belive you can not fix this in the past two months ..!

Hey, I just found out by myself why imessage is not working!

1) Go to myinfo.apple.com

2) Click on "Manage Your Account" on the right

3) Sign in with you apple ID and password

4) Click on phone numbers

5) For people from other countries: in MOBILE PHONE section Change the country code to the one specific to your country and put your mobile phone number! [Example: FOR LEBANON ONLY!! in mobile phone section: Put in contry code 00961 then keep area code empty and in phone put your number ( 3 *** *** or 7* *** ***)]

6) Click "Save Changes".

7) Get your Iphone and go to Settings - Message

8) Log off from your account and turn off iMessage

9) Turn on iMessage then log in to your account and click "YES" for Carrier rate may apply!

10) Check if it works

11) CONGRATS 😀 Unless it didn't work then try another thing!!

HOPE This helps! 😀

I tried this morning with Iusacell ISP, and it did not activate, at least it stops sending me the message: "Numero Destino no recibe ReK2 00447786205094", it now only appears "Waiting for activation...", iMessage neither Facetime.

I wait for several hours and then the "Error on activation" appears. I am glad that for someone it DID work.

Hope we can find a solution..

APPLE... thank you for nothing.

In my case, yesterday take the opportunity to get in touch with the technical support of Iusacell, after a pointless conversation, I said the situation was no longer in his hands and I communicate directly with Apple to verify the case, that this matter was no longer their responsibility.

It occurred to me trying for last night and had the same result as Plucas, message not received leave to appear, a few hours later IMessage was activated without problems, although I am waiting for Facetime do the same.
