My iMessage still says "Waiting for activation..."

Updated to iOS5 around noon today. My iMessage still says "Waiting for activation...", someone told me there was a email I was supposed to receive. I never got one. How do I get Apple to resend said email, or more to the point - activate iMessage on my Telus iPhone 4?

Yes I do. I've tried the following

- Full restore

- DFU mode restore

- Turn wifi off then back on

- Back up restore

- Reset network settings

And I still have waiting for activation. Also just called apple and they said that they MIGHT be able to fix it if I buy their tech support plan for $120. The proceeded to tell me I have viruses on my computer even after I told them I do almost weekly scans on my computer.

I was able to correct the issue by doing a full restore while connected to iTunes (iPhone 4S). There was an issue on the desktop version of imessage that was also "waiting for activation". None of the other fixes listed throughout this site worked....but once restored while physically connected to the computer (via USB) did the trick. The error on the desktop version of imessage also dissappeared.

My iMessage still says "Waiting for activation..."
