My iMessage still says "Waiting for activation..."
iPhone 4
iPhone 4
Yes I do. I've tried the following
- Full restore
- DFU mode restore
- Turn wifi off then back on
- Back up restore
- Reset network settings
And I still have waiting for activation. Also just called apple and they said that they MIGHT be able to fix it if I buy their tech support plan for $120. The proceeded to tell me I have viruses on my computer even after I told them I do almost weekly scans on my computer.
Have you tried signing out of your apple id on the settings - itunes & App store page?
Is your apple id information correct?
Does FaceTime work?
Did you tried turning it on after syncing, while still plug to the computer???
Yes I have tried signing out. My apple ID is correct and I have not tried FaceTime. But I assume it won't work thru my phone number like my iMessage and go thru my apple ID instead
Yes iMessage uses your Apple ID
Are you connected to WiFi (could be a internet issue)
Yes I am and all the other devices in the household are working fine including other iPhones.
Try turning off WiFi and using just your cellular data i.e 3G signal
This will isolate whether the issue is your WiFi connection or App Store issue.
Can you sign into the iTunes store on the computer?
Ive tried turning off the WiFi and I can send regular texts to other iPhone users. I am currently signed in the iTunes store on my computer also.
Have you tried activating imessage when not connect to WiFi
Last possible thing would be to restore device in itunes http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1414
Well I was just doing homework and had my phone plugged into my computer and the iMessage just started working again thru my phone number again. Don't know what happened or what I may have did but its working now.
that's what i said http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aRNzXReLV44
I was able to correct the issue by doing a full restore while connected to iTunes (iPhone 4S). There was an issue on the desktop version of imessage that was also "waiting for activation". None of the other fixes listed throughout this site worked....but once restored while physically connected to the computer (via USB) did the trick. The error on the desktop version of imessage also dissappeared.
This worked for me too...
Try this:
Go to settings/messages/
Turn off Send as SMS
Turn back on Send as SMS
This worked for me...
This just happenend to me and here is what I did to correct it....
Turn off WiFi
Turn off iMessage
Turn off Facetime
Go to General/Reset & reset your "Network Settings"
It will a few seconds. Once it is done, turn back on Wifi/iMessage/Facetime
Should work
I did how ever, have to do it twice but it did clear it up
I stll have this issue. Anyone else?
