I bought the blu-ray of Horrible Bosses. Unfortunately, the digital copy requires a set up through Flixster/Ultraviolet.  How can I take my Flixster downloaded file of the movie and watch it in itunes?

Windows 7

Same issue with GreenLatern - and it is tagged as a MP4 however neither Qt nor Toast will play it or decode it.  The Flixster Ultravoliet functionality is very poor and it does not integrate with my iDevices!

I am trying to do the same thing with Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2.  I called Warner Bros Entertainment and was transferred to a number that was setup to deal with the issues we're having with the mess that is Ultraviolet Digital Copy.  Of course nobody will answer, you'll need to leave a voicemail.

    Same thing with HP7 Part2.

What is this flixster thing.  I feel totally ripped off since it said "Digital Copy" and I assumed that meant a digital copy.  Not some hack program.

I desire the ablility to download it on my iPad2 and take it on an flight with me.  Not be tied to some wireless connection.

Flixster is an app in which movies can be purchased and downloaded to your idevice.  The same can be done with Flixster Collections on your MacBook or iMac.

According to Flixster's support pages, the current app can be used to download the movie for later viewing or to stream the movie with a wifi or 3g connection.  Since I've recently downgraded my data package from unlimited to 200mb/month, this isn't an option.

Here's the fun part; in order to delete the movie from your idevice, you must uninstall the app.  In-app deletion is a forthcoming feature with Flixster.  However, if you wish to rewatch the movie at a later time, it must be downloaded again through the Flixster app after re-installation.  Keep in mind that you're allowed to download a movie title only five times with the redemption code that came with your blu-ray/dvd/uv combo pack.  Since DH2 was released at midnight, I've already downloaed the movie twice since the first copy was corrupted and wouldn't play in Flixster Collections on my MacBook.

So far, I've not been able to find a way or get a definitive answer from Flixster (1-415-255-7215) or Warner Brothers (1-818-954-6000) on how to import the digital copy into my iTunes library, which may not even be possible (through legitimate means).

I've done some further research since my orginal post in the thread found above.  Flixster and Ultraviolet are advertising their service as "iTunes for the rest of us".  Seems its a sort of alternative service for the Android, and others to be added platforms.  One wonders ifAmazon with their forked Android OS wont soon throw in with them?  They claim a viewer for iOS is coming - however the cumbersome management scheme seems prohibitively complex (see post above this one).

The digital protection scheme they are using currently doesn't allow conversion. I choose to send the disks back to Amazon. Note that GreenLantern digital on iTunes store is an SD resolution and Flixster/Ultraviolet is HD. I suspect we will see the same with HP tomorrow.

Until some one comes up with a lossless conversion tool the current best way to object to this misbranding and clearly inferior solution is to protest with your purse - refuse to buy them. There is no reason both download format codes couldn't be provided, and cross linked via a clearing DB that would only allow the purchaser to activate the one format of their choice.

In the My Account section of Flipster there is an option to download in iTunes, Quicktime, and I think Windows. I downloaded HP7 Part 2 in Quicktime and cannot import into iTunes. Apparently that is the default and flipster does not ask what format to use. Has anyone downloaded with iTunes format? I think from the above posts that I can redownload in iTunes but will it work in iTunes to use on other iOS devices? Agreed that this is a truly bad deal and false advertising by Warner Bros.

I emailed flipster and they sent a iTunes code to download directly from the ITunes Store. I will do this later and it should work.

After reading your answer, I just went to their webpage and used the "contact us" button and filled out their little form.

Did they ask for any verification or did you provide that in your email to them up front?

I've done the same and I included my UV codes - we will see!  I'll report back to the community soon as I receive a real answer (not their mail bot).

I should add. I've requested a code for an HD download. The current versions for GL on iTunes is only SD for download. Not HD. I guess we will see.

Just got a code from Flixster and downloaded into iTunes.  I have to admit, that was fast and they didnt even ask for my code from the disk.

My guess is they verified via my email address.

They sent me a code for the movie that includes the extras.

I am having the exact same problem…it driving me insane! Can someone please tell me what the Flixster email address is so I can inform them that I have the same problem?

I just recieved my code (about 24 hours since I filled out the support form found on the Flixsted web page under support).

I don't yet know if the code provides an HD or SD movie yet.  But they were very apologetic in their tone. Now that I have GL I will do HP2 I guess!
