Mine too. it took forever to backup and update my ipod touch 4g to the new ios 5. But everything seems sluggish after that. The touch screen experience seems to be a bit jittery and there are noticeable pauses when loading apps. Is this just my ipod or is ios5 just not up to the mark?

Yes I mean ***, I just bought a new €289,- iPod 4 and it's slow as **** on ios 5.0!

Im actually using my 2g ipod again, because my 4g is extremely slow, laggy and apps crash all the time.

When I look at the RAM-usage, I see that the both 2g and 4g have only 250MB RAM.

And when Im doing nothing, just background apps, it uses 95% of that.

***.

Apple, you dissapoint me very much.

Greetings,

normally enthousiastic but now an angry customer.

did u do a Fresh Restore? and dont restore it from a backup, restore it as new ipod? if that doesnt help try turning off bluetooth (bluetooth is enabled by default), delete background apps (double click home for multitask, hold an app to delete it in the bar), clear safari cache, browsing history ect, untick everything in spotlight search (everything is ticked by default)

Settings > General > Spotlight Search, Even Rebooting can help.

iOS 5 has been in beta testing since jun-july i believe. it didnt just release only with a5. the ios is optimized for each device, if it wasnt there would only be one ipsw file to download that would work for all iDevices. but there is one ipsw for each iDevice because they are all slightly different in hardware. My iPod Touch 4g can handle Infinity blade and still run smoothly and its on ios 5. Your thinking it wrong that it is only good for A5.

i am experiencing the same thing- the new Itunes update & Ipod tuch4 updates took almost 3 hours to fully complete! 3HOURS- unacceptable!

and now the ipod runs slow. Thanks Apple! typing is slow, unlocking slow, going through music is slow, pictures load up super slow, games run slow-so any timing u need to do in games is worthless cause the frame rate slows down to...CHOPPY! i turned off all notifications, tried powering down several times to refresh the ipod but nothing works. Jobs passes away and Apple immediately goes to $hit!
