After installing iOS 5 and starting up my iCloud account, my mail app shows two iCloud mail accounts with duplicate emails.
One has the new iCloud icon and the other has the old MobileMe icon but is labeled iCloud.
What gives?

I wonder if this has happened because of the "me.com" - "mac.com" difference...
I dont like to have two accounts getting the same emails on my iPhone...

Same here... And since I changed my password when switching to iCLoud one of the email accounts (the one with the MobileMe appearence) gives me the message that the password is incorrect. But there is no way to change this anymore. So everytime I fetch my mail I get an error. Don't like this!
Same here. On iPad i have only one account, but on iPhone I have both iCloud and MobileMe inboxes. đ
worked it out.... sign out of icloud and email accounts and log back in using your whatever@me.com username... it sorted mines out...
How do you sign out of iCloud? I only see the remove option.
I deleted the account in my iPhone and signed in with the same account. Worked well. As all datas are on iClound i selected the option to delete all data from iPhone.

If I delete the iCloud account it shows a warning that all files in iCloud will be deleted. The same happen in the iPhone?

Read it again, it should show a warning that documents stored on icloud will be deleted on your iPhone. of course make sure, you have all your information in the cloud and I have always a backup of contact and calendar. Just in case. But it is definitely better to remove the data from iphone, to avoid any data conflicts later on - expect your cloud empty and your iPhone is the last source with valid information - in this case you should keep the data.
Better backup at least the contacts before doing anything stupid.
Any thoughs to backup the Contacts quickly from the iPhone without clouds or "ego things"?
So I deleted my iCloud account and reloaded it. The account came back with one inbox, but now it's telling me my username or password are incorrect and the inbox is empty.
The odd thing is that I can still log into my iCloud accout via the website and my information is there, although my mail portion won't load.

I have the same issue, but didn't want to mess with it until a few days later... I'm not sure which to delete as they both appear to be identical...
I deleted the one with the new iconed iCloud account Doug. Once I deleted it, and the password issue let me get through, I added iCloud back and it was good to go with only iCloud account showing.
Now the problem is the password issue.
I'm going to just sit back and try to relax for the next few days as Apple works out the kinks of having millions of people hitting their servers at once.
This solution worked for me too. Very Happy. Now on to the next set of issues. Thank for your help.
