iCloud - Cannot Load mail

Okay, here's the issue:

I have MacBook Pro early 2k8 now running 10.7.2

iPad 2 and Iphone 4 both running IOS5.

Setup iCloud access via iPhone 4 (first device to be upgraded).

Can log in to iCloud.com with both my apple ID or the .me address I had to setup as part of the sign up process. - both are showing verified at appleid.apple.com

However, whilst Conacts, Calendar, Find my iPhone and iWork all work fine, i cannot for the life of me, get email working.

On my IOS devices I get an error - Cannot get mail - The user name of password for "iCloud" is incorrect.

And on iCloud i get a pop up which says - Cannot Load Mail - and then it gives me options for Reload, Report to Apple or Close mail.

I've tried changing the password at appleid and on my devices. No change.

I do note that in system prefs on the macbook - when I select mail for iCloud and in mail prefs, it shows as starting - then the checkbox appears, however if I leave system prefs and return to it, the check box is unchecked. ???

Any help greatly appreciated!!!

yeah well my Apple ID is now linked to an email via iCloud and it is not working at all on my iPad, iPhone, MacBook Pro or online so I am peved

Something strange is up, One of my Apple ID works fine the other doesn't

It's also frustrating that one can make their .me email the primary email address

Let's just say the iCloud was opened to the PUBLIC yesterday and leave it at that.

If they wern't ready then they should of waited till they were. This isnt teething probles this is a major issue.

Considering the issues most of the people I know with an iPhone had the last past 24 hours ... tens of millions of people must have been downloading iOS5, Mac OS X 10.7.2, migrating MobileMe to iCloud all together at the same time, you are still wondering why there might be issues. Apple is probably getting the heaviest load on it servers that a company has ever been seen in history. My advice for those who have not migrated yet is to be patient, wait a few days until the peek is gone, and migrate during the night when the US is sleeping.

People have migarted with no issues. People have signed up for new Apple ID's with no issues. The problem is that iCloud mail is failing to load. On some accounts. I have 2 and one works and the other doesn't

I think this is more than a wait and see issue this is a major bug in the system issue that should have be sorted befor the release or they should have done the release in stages.

I've found a workaround (at least for me). I've set up a new mail account on my device as an IMAP account with my MobileMe login information. The mail server I put in was mail.me.com. I'm able to send and receive through that, and I just turned off the iCloud mail service. Again, this is just a workaround, and your milage may vary.

Here's an interesting tidbit...not sure if it will help anyone.

I transitioned to iOS5 and icloud last night. I'm having the same issues all of you are having. EXCEPT...I didn't update my iPad2 to iOS5 yet and it is receiving my mobile me mail just fine.

I don't think this means that my email hasn't been transitioned, i'm pretty sure it has. However, I find it interesting that my non-iOS5 device is still working just fine.

That device is actually how i'm getting email notifications regarding this thread. Again, not sure if that helps anyone, but I thought i'd post just in case it does help any of you who are desperate to get your email. I'm hoping that this is resolved asap because I just want to move on with my day at this point.
