iCloud - Cannot Load mail

Okay, here's the issue:

I have MacBook Pro early 2k8 now running 10.7.2

iPad 2 and Iphone 4 both running IOS5.

Setup iCloud access via iPhone 4 (first device to be upgraded).

Can log in to iCloud.com with both my apple ID or the .me address I had to setup as part of the sign up process. - both are showing verified at appleid.apple.com

However, whilst Conacts, Calendar, Find my iPhone and iWork all work fine, i cannot for the life of me, get email working.

On my IOS devices I get an error - Cannot get mail - The user name of password for "iCloud" is incorrect.

And on iCloud i get a pop up which says - Cannot Load Mail - and then it gives me options for Reload, Report to Apple or Close mail.

I've tried changing the password at appleid and on my devices. No change.

I do note that in system prefs on the macbook - when I select mail for iCloud and in mail prefs, it shows as starting - then the checkbox appears, however if I leave system prefs and return to it, the check box is unchecked. ???

Any help greatly appreciated!!!

This works for me on on Mac, iOS 5 (iPad, iPhone).

iCloud web mail still breaks.

However, it takes unusally long time to down load mail. Looks like the server infrastructure are not taking the load well.

Well, in the least, this iCloud.com thing still has a way for us to get mails with some tweaks. Poor BB folks, they are out ofluck!

I'm having similar problems here. Unable to access web version of iCloud mail at all (everything else works fine).

On my Mac:

Address Book, Mail & iCal all sync with iCloud perfectly.

On my iPhone:

Contacts, Reminders, Calendar sync ok... Mail does not. It eventually times out and says that my login or password details must be incorrect (even though it's the same credentials being used for contacts, reminders and calendar, and they work fine).

On the web:

I can access everything except Mail.

A pretty frustrating experience overall. 😟

To add to my post above: Shortly after I posted, everything started to work fine and Mail has continued to be fine both online and in Mail.app I have moved across 2 more MobileMe accounts to iCloud with no problems.

I've come to the conclusion that it is best to move to iCloud at times when the servers are in low demand. So first thing in the morning, in the UK, whilst most of the US is asleep. Today is Saturday and the first weekend since the release, so I think a lot of people have probably put off making the move until the weekend and perhaps now is a peak time again.

It will all come right, but you do have to wait and have patience.

Glad yours is working. Mine has not worked correctly since I migrated on Wednesday. iCloud works fine for bot Macs. Can't access my mail on the web sight & for my iPad & iPhone had to find a work around using imap.mail.me.com to receive my mail on those devices & another's mail server for the smtp server to send mail.

So after waitng 9 days, I got a call from Apple on @ my scheduled time yesterday morning. After 1 1/2 hours they told me that there has been a problem with the migration from mobile me to the iCloud. That I was not the only one having the problem of invalid name/password on my IOS devices, or thay my mail will not load on the iCloud. They siad that there was a problem with the migration from mobile me to the iCloud and that the Apple engineers are working on the problem.

Their fix is that once every two days or so, I was to delete my iCloud service from my IOS device & then reload it & that one day it will work again.

So if you are having problem, rest assure that Apple is aware of your problem & that one day your service will be restored on the iCloud. Just remember to delete your account once every two days & reload it on your IOS device, otherwise, you will never know if your service has been restored or not.
