I know some of you would have more pressing iOS5 problems.
But here goes: Updated to iOS5, iPhone 4.
Emoji stop working: Appear "squarish, jubberish" on the iPhone itself, and on iPad with iOS4.
Seems like some others might be OK.
Anyone has same problem as me?

I have similiar problem, if I send message with Emoji, the message will not be delivered to recipient or is shows some strange icons.
But I will try today make clean install iOS5 and will see.
Ok, so even clear install iOS 5 doesn't work, but I noticed that Emoji doesn't work with older iPhones, for example iPhone 2G.
Works on my 3GS and my 4. Check your keyboard settings.
Settings>General>Keyboard>International Keyboard>add New Keyboard>Emoji
I checked this bilion times, but still isn't working. Maybe old iPhone 2G cause this.

I can receive emoticons but when i send them they do not go thru. in fact if i include an emoticon with text the complete message will not go through.
I am having the same issue. Some get the emoji icons and others don't. Doesn't seem to matter what kind of phone they have. I have an iphone 4 with the update
Same problem here. If I include an emoji in a text the entire text is not received. I receive emoji's in text's with no problem though. Even if I send an email with the iPhone 4 iOS 5 the emoji's are gibberish. I never had a problem before the iOS 5 update.
Yeah. I get them just fine, I see them when I'm ready to text them, but they arrive as squares to the other phones.
Girlfriend sending me emoji from iPhone 4 running iOS 5 shows up as squares, but receives my emojis from Android 2.3.6 just fine.
Was previously working with iOS 4, she's quite sad now.
No Animated Emoticons working at all. When sent to me see nothing but a box.
Same here. I can see them fine, but when I send them to my girlfriend all she can see is a square where the emoticon should me. Tested it on someone else though and it seems when sent as an iMessage they show up fine.
Typical of iOS5 so far, really - it it isn't in the 'new Apple stuff' bubble, don't expect it to work.

That's because the "other phones" don't support Emoji.
But the same goes for other iPhones.
My friend has an iPhone 4 and can see the emoji icons I send. My girlfriend has a 3GS and can't (she could before my iOS5 update). It was fine until after I updated.

Texting someone with iPhone 4 with iOS4.3 = send and receive emojis fine
Texting someone with iPhone 4 with iOS5 = they can see my emojis fine, but I can't see theirs
This is with multiple phones of pre-iOS5 (iPhone 3G, jailbroken iPhone4 on 4.3.3) and any Android third party SMS app that supports emoji (GoSMS with emoji plugin, ChompSMS with emoji plugin)
Considering the OS version is the only change in the 2 hours between being able to see their emoji and not being able to, they clearly broke compatibility.
