I, too, was having the iCloud user name or password is incorrect popup bubble on iPhone 4 since day one when entering Mail.

Oddly, I'd tap OK to send it away, tap reload, get the bubble again, but eventually the email would come in.

Usually it'd take 3, sometimes as many as 5 cycles through the bubble/reload and email would come in.

I tried numerous things suggested. Nothing worked.

Last night I deleted the account from iPhone 4 for at least the 4th time, but this time I turned the phone off, back on, reentered my account, but STILL no luck. Popups galore. None of other people's suggestions worked. 😕

I tried one thing and something has happened and the popup has gone away.

After the nth time of deleting & recreating the iCloud account. I went into Settings.

One by one I turned OFF all functions: Mail, Contacts, Calendars, all the way down the line until they all showed OFF. With each flip to OFF, I deleted the content each switch affects. (Made sure to have backups on the iMac. Who knows how it talks to the other devices in the process.)

Then I turned them ON one by one. Now I have had not a single popup! And the email check goes faster.

I did leave the Photo Stream and Documents OFF for now.

Now to do all the things to gaurantee good luck: cross fingers, knock on wood, wish upon a star. 🙂

not for me. my icloud mail has never been usable since i signed up to icloud. i think this proves now that apple is the worst when it comes to this kind of service... looking back at the failures of @mac and mobileME. MobileMe has got a similar issue when they launched it before but they never learned!

Though i still have to give apple some credit. after all, they've got excellent products such as devices and apps.

How come Apple doesn't have a "News" tab on its home page, or a crawler, so we can go to take a quick look at announcements when something major is not working, rather than have to poke around the support forums? Smart company with smart people (full disclosure: my son works for Apple) but this seems to be a no-brainer that they missed. And to think I was so smug during the Blackberry outage...at least the word got around quick.
