Me too. What is going on? Maybe it's the find my friends? Help!!
iCloud is more likely to be the problem.
Same here. Upgraded to iOS 5 last night, went to bed with 100% battery life, no apps running. Woke up to a dead phone. Charged it up again, fully charged at 11am, dead by 2pm. Not happy.
I'm averaging a 5-6% drop per hour with the phone just sitting "idle" and not being used and no apps running in foreground or background. A friend of mine is having the same problem.
Looks like the 'TIme ZOne' setting in Locaiton services is running all the time on mine - it has been better since I switched it off
Same here! I go from 100% to 0% in 5-6 hours! Totally not acceptable. I have a ton of apps turned "on" in the Location Services settings. I'm turning the unimportant ones off to see if that helps.
Grr!
Same problem here .. down to 54% in 4 hours.. mostly idle

The worst part about this issue is that it was reported back in iOS 5 beta 1. After four beta releases, this issue apparently has not been fixed.
It is possible for certain apps to cause a battery drain. I don't know about you, but I did not install anything new after iOS 5. I'm using the same apps I always had, and yet the battery drain is present.
I haven't installed anything new yet either and have hardly used the phone all day. I have had iCloud turned off since I installed iOS 5 (read somewhere that it might be responsible for battery drain) and I've also just turned off a lot of the apps which were turned on in location settings. I've read that doing a hard reset can help (have just done it - will see what effect that has) and that restoring via iTunes helps (not done that yet). I can't function with a phone which dies in less than a working day! I hope Apple can sort this out asap.
Same problem. 2% less battery after 7 minutes!!! If they don't fix this, my iPhone will be useless!!!
Seems like this would be a good time for someone to email Tim Cook and see if he personally responds like Steve used to...
Me too, really quick drain after installing iOS 5.
I think I got it!!!
It seems to be a conflict with mobile me and icloud.
What I did;
In e-mail settings delete the original mobile me account.
Then I deactivated everything in icloud settings (when prompted if I should keep my info on my phone I opted to keep my information on my phone).
I then did a hard reboot.
When the phone powered back on I then went back into icloud and set it all up again.
This was about 45 min ago and I have only lost 1% and it’s probably from using it.
Good luck and please post your results.
It seems to be working also for me. I simply erased from the iPhone my iCloud account and reset the device. So far the battery seems to be holding a lot better. Thanks HD!. How did you found out?
